“Don’t stray too far from the red letters,” is a piece of advice often given to new preachers. It means, stay close to the teachings of Jesus and you can’t go wrong. It sounds good, but it’s actually bad advice. Everything Jesus said was good and wonderful, but not everything He said was meant for you. Read the red letters of your Bible and you will find both stories of unprecedented grace and merciless declarations of law. Mix these messages and you will end up confused and double-minded. The solution is not to balance law and grace – you can’t – but to filter everything you read through the finished work of the cross. To make sense of what Jesus said, you need to understand what Jesus did and why.

Jesus lived under law

Jesus lived at the crossroads of two covenants. As humanity’s representative He came to fulfill the old law-keeping covenant in order that we might relate to God through a new and better covenant forged in His blood. Since the new covenant could not begin before He died, Jesus lived all of His pre-cross life under the old covenant of the law:

But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. (Gal 4:4-5)

Jesus was born under law, circumcised by law, and presented in the temple according to the law. Every Jewish person that Jesus met was also born under law. We need to keep this in mind when we read the red letters of Jesus.

What law did Jesus preach?

To those under the law, Jesus preached the pure and unadulterated Law of Moses. When religious people came to trap him with theological puzzles, Jesus would respond with, “What did Moses command you?” (Mk 10:3). If someone asked, “What is the greatest commandment in the law,” Jesus would provide an answer from the law (Mt 22:36). In His law-keeping ministry, Jesus honored the Law of Moses:

The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. (Mt 23:2-3)

Since the law-teachers often made Jesus angry, we might conclude that Jesus was opposed to the law. He was not. Jesus had no problem with what the Pharisees were preaching. “Do everything they tell you.” What really burnt His toast was their hypocrisy – they weren’t practicing what they preached:

Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. (Joh 7:19)

Why did Jesus preach the law?

Like every grace preacher, Jesus esteemed the law and the purpose for which it was given. The law was given to silence every mouth and hold the whole world accountable (Rms 3:19). The purpose of the law is to make us conscious of sin and reveal our need for a Savior.

Since Sinai, the Jews had had fourteen centuries to learn what the law would teach them – that the flesh is incapable of dealing with sin. However, the law-teachers and Pharisees had ring-fenced the Law of Moses with their traditions and interpretations. By honoring their traditions ahead of the law, they diluted the law and removed the key to knowledge. As a result, the menace of sin was not fully recognized and the self-righteous weren’t silenced.

If the law had been allowed to do its proper work, the Jews would have been primed and ready for a Savior. Every one of them would have had an experience like the one Paul describes in Romans 7. “Nothing good lives in me. Oh wretched man that I am!” Live under the condemning ministry of the law and you will inevitably come to this question: “Who will deliver me from this body of death?” If the law-teachers and prophets had done their job, then the entire nation of Israel would have gathered outside that stable in Bethlehem in eager expectation. “He’s here! The Savior has come!” they would have said. “The One who will deliver us from the curse of the law and reconcile us to God has been born. Glory to God in the highest!”

Sadly, it didn’t happen. Since the law-teachers had been negligent, Jesus had to do their job before He could do His own. Before He could save the world from sin, He had to preach the law that made sin utterly sinful. Before He give Himself as the answer, He had to make sure we were asking the right question. Who will deliver us?

So Jesus became the greatest law preacher of all time. As the prophet Isaiah had foretold, He made the law magnificent. He lifted up what others had knocked down and raised the standard to glorious levels of perfection. Never again would mankind be without excuse. You want to know what God expects? Just read the Sermon on the Mount. In it Jesus says that God demands perfection and nothing less.

How did Jesus preach the law?

Preaching the red letters of Jesus is a bit like drinking whatever you find in the laundry. If you’re not paying attention – if you fail to distinguish His life-giving words of grace from His death-dealing words of law – then you could really do some damage. Don’t believe me? Then consider these red letters:

If you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Mat 6:14-15)

This is one of the most-quoted passages in the Bible and it is vintage law. It is a killer scripture. It is not good news. This verse should make us shudder for it says that our forgiveness hinges on our ability to forgive others and we are poor forgivers indeed. Men sin against us repeatedly. Have we honestly forgiven them all? What if we miss one? And what do we say to those who have been raped and abused? What do you say to a young child who has been molested? “Sweetie, you need to forgive that evil man otherwise God won’t forgive you.” That’s not grace. That’s the condemning ministry of the law in full bloom. How do you forgive the unforgiveable? You can’t! Then you’re in trouble. The law condemns you as an unforgiver. Now you’re beginning to recognize your need for grace and this is a good thing.

Any time you read a conditional statement from Jesus, you should interpret it as law. “Do not judge and you will not be judged” (Lk 6:37). That’s good advice but it’s also law. To avoid something (judgment) you have to do something (don’t judge). It’s a blessing you have to pay for. And anytime Jesus makes a threat, you should interpret that as law as well. “Anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment” (Mt 5:22). That’s bad news for anyone with a brother!

The law is not for you

Jesus came to reveal grace but those who are confident of their own righteousness are incapable of receiving it. They don’t see their need. What they need is the law and Jesus gave it to them in spades. But Jesus’ larger purpose was to give us His life and His righteousness. So He also told stories about God justifying sinners and shepherds finding lost sheep. Then He went to the cross fulfilling the law on our behalf that He might be the end of the law for all who believe (Rom 10:4).

Jesus’ came to set the captives free and give sight to the blind. The law sets nobody free. But the law does reveal your need for a Great Deliverer.

A poem I wrote to highlight the difference between Jesus and false religion. In the scriptures Jesus received the most opposition from the most religious people of his day. At it's core Jesus' gospel and the good news of the Cross is in pure opposition to self-righteousness/self-justification. Religion is man centered, Jesus is God-centered. This poem highlights my journey to discover this truth. Religion either ends in pride or despair. Pride because you make a list and can do it and act better than everyone, or despair because you can't do your own list of rules and feel "not good enough" for God. With Jesus though you have humble confident joy because He represents you, you don't represent yourself and His sacrifice is perfect putting us in perfect standing with God!

Hosea 4:6 ~ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Revelation knowledge). Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being priest to Me. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I will also forget your sons, even I.

Please read this verse in the New Covenant Spirit by filtering this verse through the finished work of Christ. We are destroyed by our ignorance and unbelief... We disqualified ourselves to become His priests by our own effort and righteousness. His priest is a man righteous by faith.

We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3) and even all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).

Our ignorance and unbelief rob away the abundant life that Jesus died to give us! It makes more sense to read this verse now...The thief does not come except to STEAL and to KILL and to DESTROY. I have come so that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10)

Do not try to figure out how it was stolen... The word "Steal" means taken away without our knowledge! When we believe in the Word of Christ, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation will help us to discern and understand the thing of the Spirit!

This is the work of God, that you believe on Him whom He has sent (John 6:29).

There's a Hole in the Bucket

In the first Chapter of the letter to the Ephesians, Apostle Paul revealed that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. At time, it is literally hard for us to believe as we do not really witness the manifestation; but the truth is, we need to believe in the Word of Christ before the manifestation comes. For we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Figurative speaking, we are all vessels or buckets in this case. The truth is we have everything, even the thing pertaining to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3); but once we stop believing in the Word of Christ, the hole of unbelief exist in our bucket and our blessing started to leak...

Why do we need to believe in the Word of Christ?

It is because the Word of Christ is the word of the resurrected Jesus revealed to Apostle Paul. The Word of Christ always points us to His righteousness and what He had accomplished for us at the cross. Our Helper, the Holy Spirit also convicts us of righteousness and He is here to glorify Jesus by witnessing to the His Word.

Is your bucket leaking?

In this New Year, start "working" the work of God by mending your bucket i.e. to believe in the Word of Christ!

Be blessed with this fresh revelation from the Lord on the number 12 as the number 12 represents divine authority and appointment, as well as governmental foundation and perfection, and shows completeness.

God called Abram on the 12th Chapter of Genesis, asking him to get out of his country, his people and his father’s house. By referring to Colossians 2:8 and apply this instruction in our walk with the Lord, we see that God was actually asking Abram to leave the basic principle of his country, the tradition of his people and the teaching of his father as these conducts and teachings are against the calling of God as Abram was righteous by faith not by work.

Incidentally, God also brought the Israelites out of Egypt on the 12th Chapter of the Book of Exodus. For this New Year, let this revelation helps you in your walk with the Lord.

I wish all my readers a very happy and prosperous New Year.

We are now stepping into the year 2012, the "12th day" of the millennium which is the third day in God's eyes. Incidentally, this is also the 12th years of my walk with the Lord. For the first 3 years, I was not walking with the Lord; I was working for the Lord then… The revelation of His grace awakened me and enabled me to walk with Him again. He is concerned with our walk with Him, like Adam walking with in the cool of the evening… not our work for Him.

Because of the year 2012, the number twelve brought forth a new revelation in my heart. I want to declare that 2012 is going to be yet another fine year for our blessing is not in the year but in Christ! Those who settled for destruction in 2012 are preaching from Hollywood's point of view. As for me and my household, the year 2012 is going to be jolly good because we have the "Holy Word". The path of the righteous shines ever brighter and brighter until the noon day's sun!

Here is my revelation on the number 12 in respect of the year 2012.

The number 12 represents divine authority and appointment, as well as governmental foundation and perfection, and shows completeness. In the Bible, we find 12 sons of Jacob which formed the 12 tribes in Israel; the Lord appointed 12 disciples, there are 12 elders representing the Old Covenant and 12 elders representing the New Covenant in the Book of Revelation. There were 12 Zodiac signs proclaiming the gospel story to Abraham in the night sky of the wilderness and etc. On top of that, there are 12 months in a year and 12 hours to divide a day from day and night…

When Elijah called Elisha, Elisha was ploughing with the 12th pair of oxen when Elijah called him by throwing his cloak (picture of righteousness) on him. Elisha then responded by leaving his father’s house, killing his oxen for food and burning his ploughing equipment. This reminds me of Abram leaving his country, his people and his father's household and the Israelites leaving Egypt. These responses are the act of faith for those whom God credited righteousness.

We are like Abraham, righteous by faith. Through the finished work of our Lord at the cross, we are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3) even all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). With this revelation, we have to start talking about things that we already have in Christ. We cannot keep on talking about what we are going to have or what we do not have. We already have everything because what were His were already ours and what were ours were already His! This divine exchange had taken place at the cross two thousand years ago.

However, if we are still unable to believe... there is no revelation… therefore, we are yet to see the manifestation of our blessings! The reason of not able to believe is that we do not see the way God sees things. We do not see the Word through His heart! In His eyes and His prospective, Jesus' righteousness is the foundation of all blessings (Matthews 6:33). That is why He credits righteousness to those who believe in Him. We have been blinded by the world for not appreciating His righteousness.

Are you enjoying what you are supposed to have in Christ? Although you might have been sitting under the ministry of grace preaching for awhile, are you still struggling in your walk with Him where you find yourself lacking in many areas of your life? You might not experience the abundant life that He promised in His word. Are you not witnessing the manifestation of His blessings in your life…? If that is the case, let us go to another account recorded in the Bible in respect of the number 12. It is none other than the woman who was subjected to bleeding for 12 years. Her bleeding condition is a picture of self-righteousness and self-righteousness is contradicting and against the flow of His grace and righteousness…

If a woman is subjected to bleeding, her life is not productive at all. Her condition is a destruction to her health and wealth. For the case of the woman recorded in the Books of Gospel, her decision to acknowledge the righteousness of God turned her situation around. When she touched the hem of Jesus’ cloak, she was immediate healed of her condition. That was before the cross, and as for us, we are much better than that woman because we are now clothed with Jesus’ righteousness.

6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
7 rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.
9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And you are complete in Him, who is the Head of all principality and power,

To tell you the truth, it is the basic principle of this world, our human tradition and our (earthly) father's teaching that hinder us to walk in the blessing that we already have. Therefore, in God prospective, His righteousness is the foundation of all blessings. That is why before He was crucified, He leave behind His garments and tunic on this earth for the world. After He cried out, "It is finished!" at the cross, everyone who believe in Him are saved… and God call this faith as "righteous by faith"!

We are righteous by faith just like Abraham. Abraham was a king in his dispensation and he is a believing Abraham (Galatians 3:9) . This means: a righteous man believes and continue to believe all the time. Jesus said the work of God is that we believe on Him whom He has sent. Our work in God's eye is to believe in Jesus. And if that is the case, are we working very hard in His eye?

For this New Year, let this revelation helps you in your walk with the Lord. We are already blessed and do not let any unbelieving word come out from your mouth.

We are to work hard by believing in the Word of Christ. The Word of Christ always magnifies the righteousness of God - Christ and His finished work on the cross and subsequently, faith that comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of Christ. God's righteousness and faith always come hand in hand...

We are already blessed to be a blessing!

How did Mary get to Bethlehem? If you get your history from Christmas cards, you might think that she rode a donkey. But it is unlikely that Joseph owned a donkey. How do we know? Because he was poor – he brought a poor man’s offering of two doves when they presented baby Jesus in the temple (see Luke 2:24 and Leviticus 5:7). In those days, a donkey was such a treasured possession, that the coveting of one was expressly forbidden in the 10 Commandments:

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey… (Exodus 20:17)

Joseph could not afford either a decent place to stay or a lamb for the sacrifice, so the odds are that he didn’t own a donkey. So how did Mary travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem, a distance of about 80 miles? She probably walked.

Right there all the mothers reading this just winced. She walked 80 miles pregnant? Seriously? Trust a man to leave an important detail like that out of his account. To be fair to Luke and the other gospel writers, we don’t know exactly how Mary got to Bethlehem. But I have a theory – a Christmas tale if you like. It begins with some good news…

The Gospel of Gabriel

Mary’s life was radically changed when an angel uttered the following words to her:

Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you. (Luke 1:28)

At first Mary was troubled. I wouldn’t say it was disbelief so much as sheer incomprehension. “How can this be?” The favor of God is mind-boggling. Our minds cannot explain it. Happily, you don’t need to explain it to receive it. You just have to believe and Mary did. “May it be to me as you have said.” Boom – right there is faith. The grace-faith circuit complete, favor now begins to flow from heaven to Mary. Then the angel left.

Did you know that only two people in the Bible were regarded as highly favored? One of them is Mary, the other one is you. “He made us accepted (literally, highly favored) in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:6). To the degree that Mary was favored, so are you. It’s perfectly fine to put Mary on a favor pedestal, as long as you put yourself right up there too. In Christ, we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3).

It is significant that the angel did not leave right after he made his announcement. He waited until Mary had responded in faith. God’s favor was on her but she needed to believe it to receive it. So do you and I. We need to cultivate the habit of seeing ourselves as God sees us – highly favored and deeply loved.

Mary’s mystery marathon

So how did Mary get to Bethlehem? I can’t prove it, but I suspect a miracle took place. Perhaps it was something like what God did when He brought the Israelites out of slavery:

You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. (Exodus 19:4)

No, I don’t think Mary and Joseph hitched a ride on real eagles – this isn’t The Lord of the Rings. When God says He carried them on eagle’s wings He’s saying I brought you to myself swiftly and easily. My hunch is that Mary and Joseph walked effortlessly and without trouble. They journeyed under a Middle Eastern sun without fainting or growing weary because God “gives power to the weak” (Isaiah 40:29). When it came time to deliver history’s most famous baby, Mary wasn’t worn out from completing back-to-back marathons. She was full of abundant life and the picture of health. At least that’s how she looks on the Christmas cards.

Bethlehem means “the house of bread.” At the house of bread Mary and Joseph came face-to-face with the Bread of Life. So in a sense, God had brought them to Himself for it was in Bethlehem that they first laid eyes on their Savior Jesus.

What relevance does Mary’s journey have for us today? Mary’s journey is the same journey you made when you got saved. When you got born again, you walked on Mary’s Trail. Think about it. Some “angel” told you the good news of God’s favor, you wondered “how can this be?” and then after a period of time you came face to face with the Bread of Life. You met Jesus and got born again. Like Mary, you may have travelled a long road, but the journey itself was miraculous. Egypt is in your past because God brought you to Himself on eagle’s wings.

The other reason for the season

Christmas is not just the time when we celebrate Jesus’ arrival into the world. It’s also the time when we celebrate His arrival into our private world. Grace came 2000 years ago but it meant nothing until the day we believed it and got born again. So in a way, it’s not just His birthday we’re celebrating, it’s our birthday too.

This Christmas, as much of the world gathers around the manger in adoration, take a moment to reflect on your own journey to the House of Bread. Jesus is the reason for the season but ask yourself this: Why did He come? He came to save you. In His eyes you are the pearl of great price and the treasure in the field. As far as Jesus is concerned, you are the reason for the season.

You are highly favored and deeply loved! Oh Happy Day! Oh Happy Christmas!

If you’ve ever taken young children to the zoo, you will know that the big animals are initially more popular than the small ones. Elephants, rhinos, and tigers get more attention than otters, turtles, and geckos. And so it is with works of the flesh.

Ask any Christian to list the works of the flesh and they will likely respond with the list found in Galatians 5:19-21: adultery, hatred, idolatry, murder, etc. Paul calls these the “manifest” or “obvious” works of the flesh. They are the biggies, the elephantine examples of what it means to live apart from God. But the Bible also provides dozens of lesser examples of fleshly living that you may not be so familiar with. I’ve listed some of these lesser works of the flesh below.

Walking after the flesh is when you attempt to get your needs met independently of God. It’s trusting in yourself (your abilities, your understanding) and living solely from the basis of your earthly experience (what you see, hear, touch, etc.). Now here’s the important bit: You can walk after the flesh in the pursuit of both good things and bad things. Paul’s manifest works of the flesh – the biggies – are all clearly associated with bad deeds, but some of the lesser works in the list below are not bad at all. This is a critical point. We are not comparing good deeds with bad but flesh with spirit. And as we saw in the last post, when you’re walking after the flesh even good things can be bad for you.

A classic example of something that is good yet bad for you is God’s law. It is not sin, it is good! But try to live by it and you will find yourself walking after the flesh. Paul said his ability to keep the righteous requirements of the law was ineffective because he tried to do so in the puny strength of his flesh (Romans 8:3). Living under self-imposed law is one of the primary ways we walk after the flesh – hence its position at the top of my list.

Just a reminder: The wrong way to read this list is the carnal way – identifying things you should or should not do. Christianity is a bit like marriage – it’s a love-relationship. You will kill it if you try to reduce it to a set of rules. We are less interested in the what than we are in the how. So how do we walk after the flesh?

Here are 20 ways:

1. Try to keep God’s law (Romans 7:9-25): Think that you have to do stuff to be blessed (Ephesians 1:3), that you have to perform to stay saved (Galatians 2:21). The old covenant is the fleshly covenant; the new covenant is the spirit covenant.

2. Set your mind on earthly things (Philippians 3:19, Jn 3:12): Keep your eyes on the here and now. “What you see is all there is” (Colossians 3:2). Entangle yourself in the affairs of life (2 Timothy 2:4).

3. Think about how to gratify the lusts of the flesh (Romans 13:14): If it feels good, do it (Romans 14:17).

4. Pursue your goal through self-denial (Colossians 2:21-3): Don’t look. Don’t drink. Don’t touch. Fast twice a week. Practice perfectionism (Galatians 3:3, KJV).

5. Make sacrifices to impress God (Hebrews 10:1,8): Be conscious of your debt to Jesus and consider it your duty to serve. Put your ministry or business before your marriage.

6. Load others with heavy burdens (Luke 11:46): Expect your Christian staff to work harder for less pay. Send the message that the work is more important than their families or their health. Shackle them to your vision. Use emotional manipulation or, worse, scripture, to pressure people to support you.

7. Take pride in your independence (Jeremiah 17:6): Respect no one (1 Peter 2:17). Scorn authority (2 Peter 2:10). Flaunt your freedom (1 Corinthians 8:9). “Who needs fathers? I follow Christ” (1 Corinthians 1:12).

8. Worry about your life (Matthews 6:25, Luke 8:14, Philippians 4:6): “What shall we eat? What shall we drink? What shall we wear?” Entertain fear and doubt. “I can’t do it” (Philippians 4:13).

9. Cultivate self-belief (2 Corinthians 12:10): “I can do it!” Boast in your accomplishments (2 Corinthians 11:30). Boast in your wisdom, strength and riches (Jeremiah 9:23).

10. See yourself as a victim (Romans 8:37): “Woe is me. I’m not worthy. My sinful nature made me do it.” Blame God (James 1:13). Blame the devil (1 John 4:4). Blame your circumstances (Deuteronomy 28:13).

11. Be a man-pleaser (Galatians 1:10): Wonder, what will my boss think? How will the board react? How will this affect the tithers? Say only what they want you to say.

12. Make plans in a worldly manner (2 Corinthians 5:7, Jeremiah 17:5): Do a SWOT analysis; list the pros and cons; make decisions based on money. Manage the risks and stay in control.

13. Try to grow a ministry (Psalms 127:1, 1 Corinthians 3:6). Work hard to make things happen.

14. Define success by human standards (John 8:15, 1 Corinthians 1:26): It’s all about the numbers. “How many soldiers do we have? How many attend the prayer meeting? Are donations increasing? Are we doing better than last year? Am I doing better than my predecessor?”

15. Nurture your reputation (Philippians 3:8): Put on a good show and make a good impression (Luke 16:15; Galatians 6:12). Be face conscious. Make a name for yourself (Genesis 11:4) and blame the wife when things go wrong (Genesis 3:12).

16. Pray long prayers, especially if others are listening (Matthew 6:5-8).

17. Regard people from a worldly point of view (2 Corinthians 5:16): Engage in office politics. View new-comers as potential recruits or leaders for your programs. Cultivate task-based friendships. Choose the best-looking man for the job (1 Samuel 16:7). Show favor to the one with money (James 2:3).

18. Sacrifice people on the altar of your principles (1 Corinthians 3:1-4): “I’m right, you’re wrong.” Judge the weak (Romans 15:1). Distance yourselves from those who aren’t as doctrinally pure as you (1 Corinthians 9:22).

19. Combat worldly problems with worldly weapons (2 Corinthians 10:4): Put your faith in politics. Start fights (Zechariah 4:6). Picket the abortion clinic. Protest the gay parade (Isaiah 42:2).

20. Pretend to be Jesus (Matthew 24:24): Draw people to your ministry and build toward yourself (1 Thessalonians 3:8). Teach others to depend on you. Stand in the gap. Try to crucify yourself (Colossians 2:20).

This is a yukky list and frankly, I didn’t enjoy writing it. Just about everything on this list, I’ve done. God help me, some of the things on this list I’m still doing! Don’t let this list condemn you. A better response is to get mad because we’ve been conned! The prince of this world has deceived us into thinking that this is how things are done, that the fleshly way of life is normal. But this is not normal life for one born of the spirit. We act this way out of habit and ignorance. We walk after the flesh because when we were in the flesh this was how we lived:

You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. (Colossians 3:7)

I have to say this again: Some of the activities on this list are good! Please don’t think I am against the law or fruitful ministries or planning or praying without ceasing. I am not. But understand that the carnal mind longs to be told what to do when God is much more interested in how we are doing it. Are we trusting in the power of our might or are we resting confidently in His? Are we walking as “mere men” (1 Corinthians 3:3) or are we being revealed as mature sons and daughters of our Father? Flesh cannot give birth to spirit. Neither can walking after the flesh empower you to live the life God has called you to live.

I encourage you to review the list again and ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify those areas that He wants to deal with today. “But Paul, that’s pretty much everything on that list!” Don’t panic! Your heavenly Father knows you are a work-in-progress. Some of these issues can be dealt with now; others can wait. He loves you regardless, without any reference to your performance. He knows everything that you’ve done and everything that you’re ever going to do. It’s impossible to disappoint Him.

In this post I’ve given you 20 generic examples of walking after the flesh. In my next post I’m going to provide some classic examples of walking after the flesh found in the Bible. Then, in the post after that, I will give you a simple “flesh test” that you can take on your own. This test consists of two easy questions that will help you determine whether you are walking after the flesh or the spirit in any given situation. In other words, it will reveal those areas in your life where freedom and joy and peace are about to come bursting through!

Prime Minister of Israel Binyamin Netanyahu will begin hosting a regular Bible study group in his official residence for researchers, public officials and invited guests, reports the Post. “Netanyahu announced the establishment of the study circle on Friday at a ceremony marking 30 days since the passing of his father-in-law, Shmuel Ben-Artzi. The study group will be named after Ben-Artzi, a noted poet and Bible teacher. Both Ben-Gurion and Begin, when they each served as prime minister, hosted regular Bible study groups. Netanyahu said he was establishing the class to perpetuate love of the Bible.” Interestingly, in recent years Netanyahu — who has never described himself as a religious person — appears to have been developing a deeper interest in Bible study. In January 2010, Netanyahu delivered an address at Auschwitz saying the prophecies of Ezekiel 37 have come to pass in our lifetimes. In March of 2010, Netanyahu’s son, Avner, won the National Bible Quiz in Israel. In July 2010, Netanyahu told Larry King that he likes to study the Bible on Saturday mornings with his son, Avner.

These are excellent steps by the Prime Minister, and he should be commended for them. Indeed, let us pray that the study of the Word of God has a powerful, personal impact on the Prime Minister and his family and each of his colleagues and guests. Let’s pray that many Israelis would follow the Prime Minister’s lead and begin reading the Holy Scriptures again, and that Bible studies in people’s homes would spring up all over the Land of Israel. Let’s pray that pray that more and more Israelis would develop a new and deeper curiosity about Bible prophecy, both the dramatic prophecies in the Scriptures that have already been fulfilled, and those that will come to pass soon, including the all-important prophecies about the Messiah.

RIGHTEOUSNESS ~ The Ultimate Wealth of Christ

It was the GRACE of God that Jesus left His garments and tunic on this earth before He was crucified. He did not leave behind money and the wealth of this world; what He left behind were His garments and tunic, the robe of RIGHTEOUSNESS.

John 19:23 ~ Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece.

These garments and tunic that He left behind on this earth were for us. Why did Jesus not leave behind money and the wealth of this world? As a young believer before, I used to make suggestion to Jesus that money and the wealth of this world would make more sense, more practical and useful... Hmmm...

However, Jesus' garments and tunic were made of linen and fine linen respectively; and any seamless tunic is an expensive piece of craftsmanship. In the Bible, linen always symbolizes righteousness. In Matthews 6:33, Jesus personally talked about seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness and subsequently in the account of Matthews at the scene of crucifixion, there were four soldiers dividing His garments into four parts. This gesture implies that at the cross, the KING OF RIGHTEOUSNESS had left behind His righteousness, made available for all four corners of this world to receive.

Therefore, those of us who are now in the grace dispensation which is after the cross, by putting our faith in His finished work, we have the privilege to receive His abundant and lavish provision of grace and the gift of righteousness!

It was His righteous body that was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon His righteous body, and by His stripes we are healed. He was on the cross naked, leaving behind His wealth i.e. the robe of righteousness. He was without sin and yet God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Just less than twelve hours before His crucifixion, He shared with His disciples regarding the other Comforter whom the Father would send. This Comforter - the Holy Spirit, was to be sent to convict us, the believer of RIGHTEOUSNESS... Not of sin, not of wealth, not of health either but of RIGHTEOUSNESS.

John 16:10 ~ of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;

Fifty days after His resurrection, the Comforter was given at the feast of Pentecost, and since then, the Comforter has been convicting the believers of RIGHTEOUSNESS…

Even though this event has been happening for two thousand years now, it is sad to say that we are still seeing preachers having to preach their hearts out in order to “encourage” and “affirm” believers that they are righteous in God’s eye. In fact, righteousness is the nature of the born again believer and righteousness is not an act. It is just like me being reminded by my parents day after day that I am a man; even though I have already grown myself to be half of a “centurion”. There must be a spiritual conspiracy that is causing unbelief in the body of Christ.

Therefore, through the writings from the Pharisee of Pharisee, the Apostle Paul (I suppose once a Pharisee, he is forever called a Pharisee), he wrote in Romans 5:17 that for if by the one man offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive (Lambano in Greek) ABUNDANCE OF GRACE and of the GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

It was the Pharisee of Pharisee who claimed that this righteousness is not through our performance but through our receiving from Christ Jesus; and grace and the gift of righteousness can enable us to reign in life through Him.

What a contrast… an “ordinary” Pharisee (GP) would command you to work out your own righteousness by abiding to the commandments; and yet the Pharisee of Pharisee (Specialist) instructed us to receive the abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness. Well, what do you say...?

With the help from the Holy Spirit, I began to realize that Jesus’ definition on His riches is RIGHTEOUSNESS not money or the wealth of this world. If we are righteous, the blessings and the wealth of this world will be attracted to us. The blessings and the wealth of this world are just like heat seeking missiles targeting those who are righteous by faith. In this sense, I would say the blessings and the wealth of this world are just like righteousness seeking missiles targeting those who are righteous by faith.

Isaiah 60

5 ~ Then you shall see and become radiant, and your heart shall swell with joy; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the gentile shall come to you.

6 ~ The multitude of camels shall cover your land, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephhah; all those from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and incense, and they shall proclaim the praises of the Lord.

7 ~ and the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you. The rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; they shall ascend with acceptance on My altar, and I will glorify the house of My glory.

Therefore, because we know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for our sakes He became poor, that we through His poverty might become rich. He was rich not because He got a lot of money and the wealth of this world but because He is righteous. He was poor at the cross not because He got no money or the wealth of this world but because He left His robe of RIGHTEOUSNESS on this earth. He was striped naked at the cross. Father God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Therefore, just by receiving His abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness, we received the abundant life that Jesus died to give us!

Romans 10:4 ~ For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Those who have believed in Christ Jesus are already righteous. This is what Paul meant by righteous by faith. In the midst of my meditation on this verse, the Holy Spirit revealed another verse written by Apostle Paul, this dynamic truth just blew my peanut size mind away…

Ephesians 1:3 ~ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who HAS BLESSED US us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

Wow...! He had blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places…? All the blessings are in us…? and all the promises and blessings are YES and AMEN in Christ Jesus…? Wow..., it is no more a matter of what are we going to have or what we do not have! The truth is, we already have all the blessings!!!

Yet we do not believe... and we cannot understand… and we cannot see the manifestation of our blessings…

The answer is "HEAR" and you can find it "HERE"….

Luke 8:18 ~ Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.

The revelation of what Jesus had done at the cross reveals to us our inheritance and blessings in Christ. It is through revelation that we see every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. No wonder the Pharisee of Pharisee prayed for the Saints in Ephesus to receive the Spirit of Wisdom and Spirit of revelation that they might know the glorious Father better and their eyes of their heart may be enlightened in order that they might know the hope to which He has called them, the riches of His inheritance in His holy people.

Revelation brings out the riches and abundant in you… Therefore, take heed how you hear. For whoever has (REVELATION), to him more (BLESSINGS) will be given; and whoever does not have (REVELATION), even what he seems to have (BLESSINGS) will be taken from him.

Most know that the Hebrew word shalom is understood around the world to mean "peace." However, "peace" is only one small part of the meaning of shalom. "Shalom" is used to both greet people and to bid them farewell, and it means much more than "peace, hello or goodbye"....

According to Strong's Concordance 7965 Shalom also means completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord. Shalom comes from the root verb shalom meaning to be complete, perfect and full. In modern Hebrew the obviously related word Shelem means to pay for, and Shulam means to be fully paid.

Yeshua is called Sar shalom, Prince of Peace, which perfectly describes the ministry and personality of our Messiah (Isaiah 9:6). In other words, the word shalom is a mighty blessing!

Proverbs 18:21 tells us there is life or death in the power of the tongue. Therefore, whenever you employ the word "shalom" you are speaking into someone's life all the wonderful things that shalom means.

I have been talking to a few of my friends about their life before and after they knew Christ. In the midst of our conversations, we noticed a common factor which was the main cause of the failure in their lives… that is the human mind which generates our thinking, our intellectual, our greed, and strategies to fulfill our selfish desires. The human mind has gotten us into the troubles of our lives. We got ourselves into troubles because we used our mind too much to strategize in order to satisfy our desire and archive our goals.... and in the midst of our troubles, we still engaged and relied on our mind which had first caused all the troubles for all sorts of rescue plans, hoping to get ourselves out of them.

When I looked at my own life, manipulation of mind has been happening in it as well. As we look into this world, we can also find this phenomenon at our workplace, even among our own family members and relatives.. We can find it in the movies, be it from Hollywood or Bollywood and they portray the same scenarios... of which they call "mind game"! I presume this is the root cause of all the troubles in this fallen world.

By looking at the first few chapters of the Bible, we find out that before Adam fell, he was full of revelation that he could name all the animals without going through the learning process of zoology and until now, an elephant is still called elephant… and yet, we who are born after his fall have to go to school and learn the names of the animals. Adam’s fall had caused revelation to cease from sinful men and since then, human knowledge is getting us into all sorts of trouble... be it big or small and this is indeed, the signature characteristic of the fallen nature.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 ~ I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favour to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. (NIV)

All the things in the Kingdom of God are never to be achieved by our might, but by the power of the Holy Spirit... Not that we are faster, stronger or wiser than others, not that we have learned a lot... It is all by GRACE... the effort of Jesus. We are now above the sun not under the sun. We are above the sun because we are in Christ who is now seated at the right hand of our heavenly Father.

Our Lord Jesus, by dying at the cross, had come as high priest of the good things that are now already here... ALREADY HERE...! GOOD THINGS ARE ALREADY HERE!!! Not what we have to do but only to BELIEVE in Him because of His FINISHED WORK at the cross! Creation had fallen but the Creator through His finished work at the cross redeemed the fallen mankind.

Hebrews 9:11~ But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. (NIV)

After all these years of believing in Jesus, I think it is high time for us to rest our mind in peace (RIP). Our carnal mind is simply of no help to us at all because it is of the flesh as Jesus had said, "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing." (John 6:63). Therefore, we have to engage our heart... The new heart that He had given us together with a new Spirit in us. He had taken away the heart of stone from our flesh, and gave us a heart of flesh. He had put His Spirit in us, causing us to be guided by His rules, so that we may keep His orders and do them. Our Saviour had given us this heart from the moment we believed in Him…

Christianity is not about what we can do or how we manipulate our mind... It is all about what Jesus had done at the cross. Through believing in what He had done for us, we receive all the good things that are from Him through the cross.

Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ because in our union with Christ our heavenly Father has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world. So do not be conformed to the standards of this world, but allow God to transform us inwardly by a complete change of our mind. Then we will be able to know the will of God. Jesus who came to die for us at the cross is His good and pleasing and perfect will.

Concerning believer's heart, the power that gives life is in our heart because the Trinity manifested Himself twice in the following verse...

Romans 8:11 ~ But if the Spirit of the One who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One who raised up Christ from the dead shall also make your mortal bodies alive by His Spirit who dwells in you.

I pray that you can have revelation on the power of our heart and be blessed by it. Amen!

Fear vs Faith

It has been 5 months since the manifestation of Gold Dust in my pockets... Since then, this same pair of pant which I was wearing on last Friday, has been washed for numerous times and I did not notice any residue remained in my pockets during this period of time.

On last Friday morning, I found Gold Dust again in the pocket where I put my handphone. Mind you, if by any chance that there are any residue remain, they actually have grown bigger in size and yet, glowing... Wow!

Grace Cannot Be Comprehended With Our Minds

Grace cannot be comprehended with our minds. It is meant to be comprehended with our hearts.

For many years, I have always understood grace as a theory and knowledge in my head. No doubt, I could have explained this gospel very accurately and well put together. I could even go to the extend of explaining how grace can produce holiness. Yet, if you were to ask me just a year back, I would in theory told you the same thing. But if I were to be very honest, I have never really experienced it myself. The problem was I never did believed "grace" through my heart, I was merely keeping them as a knowledge, doctrine, theology in my head. Therefore the fruit were not evident.

Christian likes to talk about faith, hope and love. In that order, the greatest of these is love. When they talk about this, a sub-standard preacher will generally tell people to "love!" That "love" is the most important thing, we must love others! Yet in imposing a requirement to love is just as good as focusing on works and the doing of things. We have forgotten that the only 'work' the bible requires us to do is believe. To believe is faith. When you start believing, only then hope ensued, and when hope that is in Jesus Christ is alive, only then love grows out of you.

Many people falls into the trap of understanding through the mind. There will be a lot of reasoning, a lot of intellectual discussion so called. Yet in all these things, it produces absolutely nothing. For as long as these knowledge are thought just as another piece of doctrine, it is of no power unto your life. I have a friend that came to understand the gospel of grace almost the same time as I do (9 years ago). As a matter of fact, he knows much more than me. He would have listened to more sermons and read the bible more, and understand them better too. Today, I don't even know if he still goes to a church.He perhaps had more understanding than I do, but one thing he lack. He had tried to reason out the gospel with his mind, but never let his heart receives it. He had probably a lot of head knowledge. Therefore, the gospel did very little in helping him change. If you sit through with him through a sermon, he would have so many criticisms on the preacher's message. So much so, you'd feel stress even hearing about them.

It is only in recent months, when I am faced with a worrisome situation, difficult people or temptations. I started to keep reminding myself of the grace of God, Jesus' sacrificed and love. I kept telling my heart such as and be reminded in every way. Every time I am faced with a situation which I would, in my previous self take things to the extreme. I later found out that I have a greater capacity to overcome them as I do so. Then I started to realize that in the process of such, I am actually becoming a quote and quote "holier" person than I was. I may have "overcame" sinning. I was surprise, I was very surprise. What I have been telling people it is possible, I am now experiencing it myself.

I have also the privilege to sit down with people who thinks they know a lot about the "gospel of grace". Sitting with them, they would love to think that I am a humble student, looking to learn from their infinite wisdom. Of course, many times I would just sit and listen while nodding my head going "yes, yes, I agree with you. I can understand where you're coming from". Me being as lowly as I can get, I don't get a lot of talk time when I am with adults. They would love to be on the talking side and I do just listening. If I can offer to you a tip about ministering to people, it is not about imparting knowledge to the head. You try to teach people something, they get it, they keep it in mind, they forget it in time. But when you are able to touch their hearts, that, they remember for a long time.

So I am not looking to tell people more about what I know in the doctrine. I am looking to share to people and impart it to their hearts. I do not seek to tick people off with more knowledge or doctrines about Jesus. I relate it to them in a way they can grasp with their heart and encourages faith, encourages them to believe. I find that much more powerful than another theological lesson. For Grace cannot be comprehended with our minds. It is meant to be comprehended with our hearts.

For some of you, perhaps you may not be able to understand what I am saying. It took myself a long time to come to realization of where I've gone wrong either. If Abraham had always been a picture of righteousness through faith, than Sarah was the picture of Grace. While king Abimelech and the pagans fell for the beauty of Sarah, grace. They never accepted Abraham, signifying righteousness through faith. Yet we have to understand that grace and righteousness through faith goes hand in hand. If you take just a side, Isaac will never be produced. This is what I coined as the "fascination of grace". Where people are impressed, intrigued by such a beautiful gospel. However they never really receive it into their hearts. They kept it in their head, like a masterpiece in a museum - for display only.

How is it possible for us to understand anything if we do not reason it with our head. This my friend is how God works that is far from human wisdom. We would have thought that only when we understand then we are able to believe. That is absolute garbage. If we had understand something so thoroughly, we would not need faith to believe in it. It doesn't take faith at all.

When you receive him and believe His grace through your heart. That is faith in action. Then you will find yourself receiving revelations that strikes as divine understanding. A much more superior form of knowledge, that is wisdom. The Holy Spirit will come and reveal to you more things than you had thought, and when right believing is involve, the right doing will follow suit. Only then the fruit will be evident. God bless.

Giving weight to the Right Words

Whatever contains the anointing never grows old.

It always remains fresh.

I realised that sometimes when people say words that hurt and tear down, we just simply have to become dead to it. Just don’t have to bother or react and let those un-edifying words fall to the ground. The voices of accusations and the voice of condemnation screaming in your ears, sometimes even by your loved ones.

Sometimes, I reckon that they don’t even know what they themselves are saying, because it’s all done in a fit of anger, frustration or emotions, they know not what they do because they don’t know God, and they don’t know that the power of death and life lies in the tongue.

And mentally you know it’s done in a fit of emotions, but somehow your flesh still wants to react (not just retaliating, reacting by feeling bad, reacting by receiving the condemnation and accusations, receiving the hurts). Which is just stupid. Happens to me almost all the time. It’s ok and natural to feel hurt at the moment, but take a moment to think again.

I’ve always wondered what it means to let their word fall to the ground. You are the high priest, and whatever you value that you set on a certain object, that certain object takes on it’s value.

Giving weight to the right words.

It just dawned upon me, maybe this is what the Lord’s been trying to teach me. Whose words do you give weight to? Whose words do you esteem? The reason why you reacted in such a way is because you are actually giving weight to these words. But if you control the way you give weight to these words, you’ll realise that you won’t react the way you used to.

The reason why we feel so troubled about something is because we are 1st giving weight to the wrong words, 2nd thinking and meditating on wrong words, 3rd fear worry and anxiety comes in, 4th start attracting what you fear.

E.g. Someone said this about you. You feel angry / bad about it. You continue to think about it for the whole day – and you go about talking to others about it, doing self-evaluation and introspection. It continues and develops into something you fear.

Fear, worry and anxiety comes from meditating on the wrong words.

If you say that the words that man say don’t matter, and you don’t esteem them, their words simply fall to the ground. It’s not the matter of words that they use or the negative things that they speak into your life. It’s the matter of how you give heed to those words. You cannot control what people say about you, but you can control how you want to give heed to those words. Let this be revelation to me.

What you give heed to will manifest.

POOR & LOVING vs RICH, Yet WISE & LOVING

It was about 15 years ago and I could still remember it was in one of the afternoon when I was having my tea break in a coffee shop. Beside this coffee shop was a grocery shop and I was there buying some cough drops. I saw an elderly man selecting the expired canned food from a discount counter next to me.

As I was watching him choosing, I told him that these canned foods were expired and could be harmful for human consumption. He told me that he understood but his children loved this kind of canned food and he was too poor for the normal canned food… Indeed, the expression on his face told me that he loved his children very much.

With compassion in my heart, I asked him to get from the normal stock and I would pay for the difference. He took for himself half a dozen and I paid for him together with my cough drops at the cashier counter. I went back to my seat at the coffee shop next door.

After awhile, I saw this elderly man came out of the grocery shop with a big bag full of canned foods… Out of my curiosity, I went back to ask the cashier counter and the cashier told me that, the elderly man used the normal canned foods to exchange for the expired canned foods… and by doing this; he could have more canned foods for his children.

The key word here is, this man was POOR and yet, he LOVEd his children very much…

After the finished work of Christ, any born again believers are to live by the word of Christ. The word of Christ is the word reveals by the resurrected Jesus. The word of Christ only comes through revelation by the Holy Spirit. The revelation of the word of Christ had the power to transform a Pharisee of Pharisee into the Apostle of Grace. He was none other than the Apostle Paul, an Apostle to the Gentile. Apostle Paul himself mentioned in the Book of Galatians that he received the gospel through revelation from Jesus Christ.

Galatians

1:11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.

1:12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

If it was by revelation, Paul indeed needed the work of the Holy Spirit in him to unveil the truth because Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. He only witnesses to the truth and He comes to glory Jesus. For us to understand the grace of God, we too, need the Holy Spirit to reveal to us the Gospel of Grace. That is why Paul prayed for the churches in Ephesians to receive the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation so that the Ephesians might know Jesus better and the eyes of their heart might be enlightened.

Ephesians

1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

1:18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

In this grace dispensation, any minister ministering the grace of God needs the revelation from the Holy Spirit. If a minister is POOR in revelation, chances are, he is feeding the expired food to the congregation…, but it is still out of his LOVE for his people…. Like the poor elderly man loving his children…

Take heed, when the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation enlighten you, you are WISE and RICH... and the objective of loving is fulfilled through the revelation of Agape Himself...

Do not worry about “Tomorrow”, for this “Tomorrow” will worry about its own things. The thing that this "Tomorrow" is worried about is how to come, because it is said that "Tomorrow" would never come! Therefore, this “Tomorrow” is worrying about how to come! As for us who are living after the cross, our Lord had already taken care of our everyday troubles at the cross.

Our God is a God of today… He is not a God of tomorrow. He declared in the Bible: “I Am!” He is the One who turns tomorrow into today.

Well, if you meet this “Tomorrow” today, do you address this "Tomorrow" as “Today” or “Tomorrow”…? “Today” right…? It is because this “Tomorrow" is still there waiting to come. Mind you, this “Tomorrow” will never come!

Therefore, the one who really need to worry is this “Tomorrow”. So, be wise and let this “Tomorrow” worrys about its own things… i.e. how to come!

I had spent my childhood here in this house for 10 years... Now this whole row of four houses had been turned into a cafe - Rumah Hijau Cafe, selling authentic Muslim food like... Ayam Penyet, Nasi Beryani, Indian Rojak and etc...

Where I was seated was used to be our living room. As I looked around recapturing my memories, I could still recall the spot where I used to park my toy cars... The small garden in front of the house is not there anymore... so as the shade of the garden plants where I used to hide my grasshopper.

There is a reference about us that always is constant and true. This reference does not calculate, factor in and reason conditions, effects or defects. While your particular GPS position varies with wherever you are, it is yet a constant at any position, a true reference a unique standard making your position known. Just like our GPS position is constant at any given time, yet unique, it is a constant reference that is not influenced by the sun, rain, wind, snow.

No conditions can add or subtract to this reference. Your GPS unit might be confused, do not pick up your true reference. It might become distorted, distracted along the way by some defect, yet your position remains a constant at any particular time. Sometimes to get a better perspective and context to your position we would use a GPS companion, a map. This map is also handy for those times our GPS unit is distracted, distorted or it contradicts your original position. We might also use a GPS manual to reset or reboot the original unit. What a beautiful thought to know that we have yet another, yet more constant, more accurate reference to our lives other than latitudes and longitudes.

The reference of Christ in man is an unshakable, uninterruptible reference to our position - it never varies. The Bible has for most of time been portrayed incorrectly in terms of its original and PRIMARY purpose. It is not a book to negotiate through life according to a disciplined standard. Do we use our GPS companion maps or the GPS manual to learn HOW to drive?...or to know the rules of the road? ....maybe only for direction, but the PRIMARY purpose is to get a perspective and context on your true position. In respect to your GPS position on the GPS unit it normally displays at least the essence of your position, longitude & latitude...some units give more information when you are driving, ie speed, ETA, distance covered, etc.

The Bible becomes such a beautiful reference when read in context of the essence of Christ in man. Whatever is true about Christ is true about man. The fullness of what time and space can ever and has ever tried to communicate about our life has found it's true constant reference, the blueprint of our original design, in Christ.

I was invited by Pastor Peter Sze to share in their Chinese Service during their recent Family Camp in Kampar about 150 Km away from Kuala Lumpur. This three days two nights camp was awesome... Everyone there were full of laughter, joy, the love of Christ and the fellowships were awesome. Many life in tNCC have been impacted by the grace of God and they have their own life impacting testimonies on how the grace of God has transformed them. As I listened to their sharing, I could see the making of great preachers in the kingdom of Light!

Though my family has been to numerous family camps in our life as a Christian, we would say this one is the best ever. Me and my family woke up on Monday morning finding ourselves missing the good time we had in the camp... With this "hangover", I spent my time sleeping the whole day on Monday and I began to understand what Elder Alex meant by being laying flat on the bed after the Sunday Service....

I just could not imagine how a church like tNCC which is without a church office, and yet had put up a well organized and successful camp. THIS MUST BE HIM! And indeed, the world will say the Lord is with them! I have learnt in my walk with Christ that some of the things are to be learnt, some are to be imparted and some are to be observed; and as for this Family Camp, I have learnt, I "LAMBANO" the impartation and I observed too...

I also observed that my son Norman, has made himself an awesome photographer. I am proud to see how he handle the little details professionally on what and when not to show certain slides on the slide show. Well done boy...!

When I arrived at my office this morning, I discovered Gold Dust scattering on my office table as I took out my mobile phone from my left pocket. As I reached out to my right pocket and pull out my hand, the Gold Dust in that pocket scattered on the floor.

I was greatly amazed by the phenomenal. Wow...! Isn't this the sign and wonder that many Charismatic circles are looking for and now, this sign and wonder follows those who preaches the Good News... the Gospel of Grace, the WORD OF CHRIST!

The Number 111

Have you notice that when you add your age with the year you were born, it adds up to be the number 111. No matter how old you are or how young you are, the total sum is 111.

This might be true for the world, but for those who are established in the finished work of Christ, the total sum might not be the number 111.

Since this is a matter about "NUMBER", the answer is found in the Book of Numbers.... For those whose year of birth has 19 in front, please refer to the 19th chapter of the Book of Numbers.

Numbers

19:9 ~ A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the red heifer and put them in a ceremonially clean place outside the camp. They shall be kept by the Israelite community for use in the water of cleaning; it is for purification from sin.

The water with the ashes of the red heifer has purified us, regenerated us and rejuvenated us. This means to say, the preaching of the finished work of Christ has purified us, regenerated us and rejuvenated us. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and are well established in the finished work of Christ! By the grace of God, claim this manifestation of rejuvenation in your life. Because of the red heifer's ashes, we are forever 19 years young in Christ, therefore, 19 + the year you were born does not equal to 111.

Rejuvenation is one of the promises made by God to those who are righteous by faith and this is one of the magnification in the righteous Abraham's life. It is all about the grace of God....

A World View Interview with Binyamin Natanyahu

1 John 4:20 ~ If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Please note that the Bible says a man, not a believer. The Bible also mentioned God not Christ. Believers are in Christ and their position is son of God and co heir with Christ. Therefore, the man mentioned in this verse is not a believer in Christ but those who claim he loves God. Likewise, the brother mentioned in this verse is not brothers in Christ but our brothers of the Holy Land, the Jewish believers.

So, if a man say, I love God, and hate his brother, he is a liar: for he that love not his brother whom he had seen, how can he love God whom he had not seen? The people in the Holy Land are Jesus' brohters. If we are in Christ, impacted by His grace, we have that heart to love our "brothers".

So, lets pray for our brothers in the Holy Land....

Somehow, I was placed on an email prayer list. Pray for this problem, pray for that problem. Please don't mistake me. Every one of us needs prayer; every one of us has ongoing and very real needs.

But over and over, my spirit says to me as I look across these endless requests: "It is not prayer you need, it is Jesus." I want to holler, "Open your eyes, it is Jesus inside of you that is your salvation. He is life itself. Know Him! My prayer is not worth a hill of beans for you right now. At this moment you need to see Jesus as He fills you right now with all of His glory and power. You need to place yourself right in the center of His light. That's where you are, see yourself there."

One of the most important commandments to us in the New Testament right now is Romans 6: "Reckon yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord."

'To reckon' means to speak, to declare, to call it to be so, to believe it is so, to place it to your own account that it is so. To shout out loud with your voice box: "Everything in me that needed to die is already and totally dead, vanished into the cross of Jesus." And then refuse all evidence that your natural sight wants to throw at you.

But a few weeks back, in a dream, I found myself declaring this truth, "I am alive unto God. I am alive unto God." My spirit declared this over and over. When I awoke, I realized that I had been overlooking the more important second part of this verse.

The cross is our foundation, the base upon which we stand, but the resurrection is our life. Jesus, alive in us, is no longer referenced by the cross. I am alive unto God. Only God can show us what that means by a revelation of His Spirit.

Consider these verses:

Then Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain. Now the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it . . . The sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. Exodus 25

. . . Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him. So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. Exodus 34

And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord. 1 Kings 8

. . . He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray, as He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and his robe became white and glistening . . . and they saw His glory." Luke 9

Every appearance of glory and power in the Old Testament was Jesus. All of it was limited and confined by natural sight and by human inability to believe. What the disciples saw upon the Mount of Transfiguration was also limited by human definition, but the difference was that now the glory and might of God was personal - Jesus.

This same Jesus is my life and He fills me with all of His glory. Not the limited glory of the Old Testament. Jesus stated that John the Baptist was the greatest prophet from Adam until Jesus, but that he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than John the Baptist.

See Him. See Him as He is in you. From the top of your head to the tip of your toes, you are filled with more glory and power than was ever seen in Bible times.

Paul shouted, "WE ARE NOT LIKE MOSES! We do not cover over our glory."

We do not need our bodies healed, we do not need our debts paid, we do not need 'safety' from the coming storm. We NEED our eyes opened, that we might see the glory and the power of the Holy One who fills us with all of His glory. Then, out of seeing Jesus as He is in us, comes all of the things that we need, like a mighty river of life and blessing and favor.

I recently heard a fellow Christian say, "Be careful, if we get to busy and don't have time for chapel, then the devil can (do whatever the devil does)."

This kind of comment is very familiar to me from the past. But I am amazed at how differently I see things now. My first thought was to laugh. Are you kidding me? How can that possibly be? Then I realized that she would not understand if I said anything.

We are filled with all the glory and power and might of all the Holiness and Majesty of God, way beyond anything we read about in the Bible. We are surrounded by God like a mighty fortress wall, He keeps us at all times, nothing can come to us except that which He allows and all of it is for our glory.

The only possible way we can 'see' the devil and sin in that way, as something to be fearful of, is if we cannot see Jesus inside of us.

I am speaking to God's sons: "God, open our eyes, cause us to see this glorious One who fills all of our humanity with His power."

For all of you dear ones who are troubled about 'sin' in your life. For God's sake, get your eyes off of the sin. It is thoroughly nailed to the cross and cannot escape. God does not want your eyes to be on the cross, but on the Savior and the Salvation that fills your being right now.

This is why Jesus said, "In that day you shall know that I am in the Father, and you are in me, and I am in you." The order in which He said it is important.

If I don't know that I, all of me, all of my flesh and sin and humanity and weakness and debt and all of this dying body, all of me, I am in Jesus. If I don't know that, then the rug is jerked out from under my feet and I cannot see HIM.

But the very same Holy One who came upon the Mountain in consuming fire and clouds of darkness so that those people back then were terrified and could not stand before God - that same Holy One fills me, my body, my soul, my mind, my strength, my spirit, every part of my humanity, every part of who and what I am, He fills me with a glory and a fire that so far exceeds what they were capable of seeing back then. How then can I so miss the glory of the Resurrected Christ who fills me that all I can see is 'what the devil might do' or some 'sin' that I refuse to leave upon the cross.

It is wicked to 'weep' over sin. Weeping over sin is more wicked than the sin itself.

See Jesus. First you in Him, and then He in you. Sin is not in that picture, except already dead upon the cross. Jesus is our life; we have no other life. How can we see anything else?

Oh, how I want to grab people and shake them and shout, "The power and majesty and glory and holiness of Almighty God fills you from the top to the bottom, from the inside to the outside. How, how, are your eyes so blind, how are your senses so dull that you cannot see the Fire and Glory that fills you."

Yes, it is a dying body that the One who raised Jesus from the dead fills in His power. Yes, it is a weak human that is the earthen vessel that holds this Holy Treasure. Yes, my life is messy. Yes, when I look in the mirror, I see a very human face. That is the incredible wonder of this mystery. We imagine that we must see an outward glory with our natural eyes to know that we are filled with Christ.

We walk by faith and not by sight. We see Him who is invisible.

. . . that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith - the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1

It is not Jesus up in heaven that we do not see with our natural eyes, it is Jesus inside of us in all of His Ascended glory that we do not see with outward sight. But we see Him by faith and we are filled with a joy that cannot be expressed.

But now is the revelation of Jesus Christ, now we must walk in the knowledge of His Presence, His Parousia, His coming in us as we have never known before.

Practice living as if Jesus in all of His resurrected and ascended glory has returned to earth and now appears in a physical form - you. Practice living in the open consciousness of that reality - because it is true.

If Jesus showed up visibly, we would all fall on our face before His Majesty.

Jesus has shown up in a far greater way than anything we can read about in the Bible, Old Testament or New.He has appeared as you.

Preston Eby pointed out something that I had never considered before. When Jesus appeared after His resurrection to the two who were walking to Emmaus, they did not recognize Him with their natural sight. Though it was Jesus, the physical body He appeared in was structured quite differently from the one they had seen before. More than that, there were NO scars on his hands. They did not recognize Him until He broke the bread, seated across a small table from them. But when He materialized before them in the presence of Thomas, then, for Thomas's sake, He appeared in a body that showed deeply and plainly the scars from the nails. It was a different physical appearance.

And so now, He has appeared in your body, and He has appeared in mine.

Then, He said to Thomas, "Thomas, because you have seen Me (with your natural eyes), you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Believe what?

Believe that He has appeared in all of His resurrected and ascended glory in us. Jesus is our life.

Christ in us is our hope of glory. Christ, appearing in any form outside of our self can do nothing for us except weep. See Him as He is in you - by faith.

Then all of these many things we so desperately need prayer for will simply vanish from our sight and He will meet them with the favor of His hand that is always flowing out from our bellies.

Practice seeing Him in you. Practice it until you see nothing else.

And here is the truth. There is nothing else. Everything we imagine to be in us that is not Jesus, is just that, our imagination. How very sad if we keep our imagination more vivid before our eyes than the Ascended King who fills us in glory.

See Jesus. See His glory in you.

How well did I understand grace before I understood grace?

Have you ever seen those Magic Eye 3D pictures that look random at first glance but then reveal a hidden picture? Maybe there’s a group of you looking and someone says, “Wow – look at that! It’s a ship!” Then another person sees it and now they’re both describing the picture to you. But try as you might you just can’t see it. They try to encourage you. “Look – it’s right there. It’s huge!” But still you can’t see it. You’re starting to think there’s no picture at all and they’re all deluded when suddenly, revelation comes and a ship appears! If you’re like me and you’re usually the last person to see these things, you’ll no doubt embarrass yourself at this point by shouting, “I see it!”

That’s how it was for me with grace.

I knew people who looked into the Bible and saw radical grace but I didn’t. Sure, there were pockets of grace but there was a whole lot of other stuff as well. Then one day, revelation came and I saw Grace! He’s right there on every page and in every book! How can you miss Him? He’s huge! I now find myself reading old scriptures with new eyes and saying, “Look! This is speaking of Jesus! This is all about Him – I never saw this before.” Now that I’ve seen Him once I see Him everywhere. I was saved decades ago and I have always loved God with my whole heart. But when I got this revelation of His amazing grace, it was like being born again, again.

A friend recently asked me, “How did you understand grace before you understood grace?” Here’s my answer: I thought I understood grace perfectly well. For as long as I can remember I’ve considered myself a testimony of His grace. But when Grace Himself came into focus, I was floored. I realized that I had barely understood grace at all. Looking back I can identify nine signs that showed I did not fully grasp the grace of God.

1. I understood that I was saved by grace but not that I was kept by grace

I had received Christ by faith and without doing a thing, but I was not continuing in Him by that same faith (Col 2:6). Although I would never have said it, I had taken out a little works insurance. Faith is a positive response to what God has done, but I liked to initiate things. And so my walk became “do, do, do,” rather than it’s “done, done, done.” There was no rest, only performance anxiety. There was always another meeting to lead, another plank of truth to teach, another stray sheep to gather. I thought this was normal. I could get excited about the idea of being saved and saving others, but I was not drawing from the wells of salvation with joy (Is 12:3). I was constantly stressed and I treated grace as grease for my engine.

2. I felt obliged to serve

Jesus had done everything for me, what would I do for Him? Of course I didn’t use the word “indebted” – that would’ve alerted me to the poverty of my theology – but much of what I did was motivated by a sense of obligation. I thus cheapened the exceeding riches of His grace (Eph 1:7) by trying to pay Him back for His priceless gift. Inevitably this shifted my focus from Him and His work to me and mine. Instead of being impressed by what He had done, I was trying to impress Him with what I was doing.

3. I motivated others using carrots and sticks

Because my own motives were screwed up it was inevitable that I would preach rewards and punishments to others. Do good, get good; do bad, get bad. At the same time as I was preaching against legalism I was putting people under law! My gospel was like an ash-tray – full of “buts”! God loves you but… Jesus died for you but… God’s gifts always came with a price to pay. But grace is free – you can either receive it or reject it but the moment you start charging for it, you’ve missed it. There’s only one motive in the kingdom and that is love. The Son of Man didn’t come to threaten us, judge us, or scare us, but to demonstrate love (Rm 5:8). I no longer believe that evangelism means scaring the hell out of people. The good news that the world needs to hear is that God is good and He loves us. The new covenant of grace is the formal expression of His unfailing love for us (Is 54:10).

4. I saw myself as a servant rather than a son

My identity was in the things I did rather than in my Father. I saw myself as working for God (a noble cause!) rather than doing the works of God. I would not have said I was justified by what I did for I knew that grace and works don’t mix (Rms 11:6). Yet I was mixing grace with works like there was no tomorrow! But here’s the strange thing. Even though I preached servanthood more than sonship, whenever there was a crisis I was quick to relate to Him as Papa. It was only when I was strong and healthy that I was seduced by the religious need to do something for God. Happily, there were many crises!

5. I kept asking God to provide things that He’s already provided

6. I was more sin-conscious than Christ-conscious

Like many Christians I was afraid of sin (keep it out of the camp!) and I was not known as a friend of sinners. I defined sin as bad works only and I taught that the solution to sin was repentance. I had read that the grace of God teaches us to say no to ungodliness (Tit 2:12), but I wasn’t quite sure how that worked. So when preaching against sin I used inferior incentives like fear and punishment that led, at best, to temporary, will-powered changes in behavior. I emphasized what people must do (repent!) more that what God has already done (forgiven us!). I kept the focus on us when it should’ve been on Him and my preaching was powerless as a result. If anyone failed to experience victory over sin, I just figured they were unacquainted with God’s transforming grace – even though I had given them none.

7. I always tried to do the right thing

Someone under grace says, “I trust Him from start to finish. He will lead me in the right path” (Ps 23:3). But in subtle ways I preferred rules to relationship. What I craved were clear Biblical guidelines for living. I thought I was choosing good, but then so did Adam. We both had an independent spirit that led us to eat from the wrong tree. I felt particularly good when people came to me for guidance. I thought I was giving them wisdom when really I should just have got out of the way and taught them to lean on Jesus (Jn 10:27).

8. I had a stronger relationship with the written word than with the Living Word

I did not read the scriptures to find Jesus (Lk 24:27) but to learn, what should I do? I read indiscriminately and was often confused by scriptures that seemed to contradict each other. My solution was to go for balance: A little of this, a little of that, for all scripture is profitable. But by failing to filter what I read through the finished work of the cross, I unwittingly poisoned myself. I was mixing the death-dealing words of the law with the life-giving words of grace. Although I was zealous for the Lord, in truth I was lukewarm. I was neither under the stone-cold reality of the law nor walking in the red-hot heat of His unconditional love and grace.

9. I knew I was righteous, but I didn’t feel righteous.

When I stumbled I would more readily confess my sins to God than allow the Holy Spirit to remind me of the gift of His righteousness to me (Jn 16:10). I knew I was a new creation (2 Cor 5:17), but in many ways I acted and spoke as if I was merely an improved creation. I thought honesty about my struggles was the key to getting more grace. But I probably would not have struggled so much in the first place if I had just learned to see myself as God sees me – redeemed, righteous, and holy.

I am convinced that grace comes by revelation. If you don’t yet see it this post may sound like the ramblings of a man who is unbalanced. (Thank God I am! I’m done with balance!) If you do see Grace, then right now you will be resonating like a tuning fork. So let me finish with a few words for those of you in the first group. Please be patient with those of us who are leaping for joy. Don’t walk away from the Magic Eye picture scowling, “I can’t see it, there’s nothing there.” Just keep looking! Grace really is standing right there in front of you. And He’s huge!

The New Creation and The New Birth

What does creation have to do with redemption? What is the new creation and the new birth? When does the old stop and the new begin? How is the new creation related to the old creation … and what is the difference between them? Did God leave His rest to re-create? Did He make a mistake with His first attempt at creation? These are some of the question we’ll begin to answer in this writing.

The writers of the New Testament often speak of creation in the same breath as redemption.

John starts his version of the gospel making sure that his audience understands that the God he speaks about is the God who created all things and through whom all things exist.

“The original, authentic Word was face to face with God from the very beginning. God Himself is the content of this communication - revealing His personal presence and unique expression in all that exists.

In fact there is nothing original or innovative outside of Him! He is the only Creator and the source of all inspiration and creativity. Everything that is, has ‘Made by God’ stamped on its existence.

When Paul explores the scale of reconciliation in one of his most powerful writings, he starts with reminding us about the person we are dealing with - the Creator of all things:

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” (Col 1:15-20)

The psalmist said it this way: “The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein,” Ps 24:1

So how is redemption connected with creation?

The Creator has not forsaken His creation.

The Creator has not given up on His creation.

He has not renounced His declaration that what He made is good.

God believes that everything He made can be saved.

Evil did not obliterate God’s original creation. Evil did not succeed in perverting creation to such an extent that it was not worth saving. Evil could twist, pervert and suppress what God created, but it could not utterly corrupt it.

God still sees a value, in fallen creation, which is worth pursuing and paying the utmost price for.

The new creation is nothing less than God’s affirmation of the original creation.

In the new creation God declares that what He made originally was not a mistake, that creation is worth renewing and restoring.

When God finished creation, He entered His rest on the seventh day - an eternal day. (All the other days have a beginning and an end, the seventh day has no end) Heb 4 also reveals that God ceased from all His work, entered His rest and has never left that rest.

God did not become dissatisfied with what He made and consequently started working on a brand new plan for something that never existed before. The new creation was not another act of creating or work which required God to stop resting and start creating again. God is satisfied with what He originally created and confidently waits for its return to His original design.

God is not nervous about what He made … He is not anxious about your life. What He imagined originally when He first thought of you, is still His only reference to who you are. Agree with God and be at peace.

Let’s look at one of the most popular scriptures regarding the new creation: 2 Cor 5:14-17

“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.

From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them”

I want to specifically focus on verse 17: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

The ‘if’ in this sentence has often been seen as a conditional ‘if’. But Paul uses this ‘if’ as a conclusion, not as a condition. See for instance Rom 8:31 as well: If God is for us, who can be against us? Can you see that the ‘if’ is a conclusion … not a condition?

Also notice the word ‘therefore’. Whenever you see the word ‘therefore’, ask, what is it there for. You see verse 17 is the conclusion of verse 14-16 in which Paul makes it as clear as can be that all where included in the death of Christ. That is why Paul can no longer look at any man from a human point of view. History recorded the death of one man, but eternity saw humanity included in that event.

The word ‘new’ was translated from ‘kainos’ and refers to that which is new, especially in freshness and age. In other words that which has not been affected by time.

The word ‘creation’ was translated from ‘ktisis’. Strongs define it as: original formation, building, creation, creature, ordinance. It comes from the word ‘ktizō’ which Strongs defines as follows:

Probably akin to G2932 (through the idea of the proprietorship of the manufacturer); to fabricate, that is, found (formoriginally): - create, Creator, make.

It is also interesting to note that ‘any man’ can also be translated ‘any thing’.

The new creation, therefore, is the original creation that was found again by its founder and cleansed from the affects of time, renewed and refreshed.

The old creation is also the original creation, but in a state of decay as it was subjected to corruption.

In the same way as there is only one Creator, there is only one creation.

This one original creation has been in different states, namely ‘old’ or corrupted by the events in time, and ‘new’ or cleansed from the decay of time and restored to its authentic glory.

There is no such thing as an evil creation - evil never created anything.

The only thing Satan can give birth to, is lies.

In His death He did the unthinkable, He reached back into the irreversibility of time and loosened the grip of corrupting events from His creation. He reaches back into timeless eternity and restores the first creation to a place of blameless innocence, without a trace of decay or any evidence that it was ever touched by sin.

When the Word became flesh, when the Creator became a creation, the relation between them fundamentally changed. This act of incarnation, in which the Creator embraces his creation, in which God unites Himself with humanity, is the beginning of reconciliation and the end of hostility. Incarnation is how God releases His creation from corruption and affirms once again that what He made is good … when He said man is His image and likeness, He meant it.

I’m sure you have often heard this scripture used in the context of individual conversion, to show how a person’s life changes when they meet Christ. And I can understand that. When we look at the mess in which we lived before Christ and the peace we received when we received Him, this verse makes a lot of sense. However, the new creation has a larger context and relevance than your individual life and experience. God sees the universal renewal of all that exists to His authentic thought before the fall. We can individually participate in that renewal … but the new creation is a larger event that your individual decision.

The new birth.

When we understand the new creation, it is not difficult to understand the new birth. The new testament uses the words ‘born again’ only in the book of Peter! John 3 actually speaks about born from above. The word which some bibles translated ‘again’ is the Greek word ‘anōthen’ which means: from above; by analogy from the first; by implication anew: - from above, again, from the beginning (very first), the top. As with the new creation, this refers to a renewal, a restoration of the original.

Let’s have a look at these verses in detail. John 3 speaks of two births - what is born of flesh and what is born of spirit, our natural birth and our spirit birth. He refers to these births in different ways, namely: the spirit birth is also referred to as ‘born from above’, and the natural birth is also referred to as born of water - the natural womb from which we came.

Many sermon’s have been preached on ‘you must be born again’ as if this is something a person can do. However, in the same passage Jesus says: “unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” As little as you contributed to your natural birth, as little you are capable of contributing to your spirit birth.

Jesus is stating a fact to Nicodemus: to see the kingdom of God, to even have an appetite for spiritual things, you have to have a spirit dimension … a part of you that has its origin ‘from above’

All men have spirits. There are multitudes of scriptures that show that all men have a spirit.

In Gen 6:3 God says that the life within flesh is His spirit! : “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”

Num 16:22 (and others) refers to God as “the God of the spirits of all flesh”.

Job 27:3 calls man’s breath ‘the spirit of God is in my nostrils’

There are too many to mention. The truth is that man has a spirit dimension, a part that originates ‘from above’.

But when and how does this renewal happen? What is the basis and beginning of this new creation, this new birth?

“By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” 1 Pet 1:3

“You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.” 1 Pet 1:23

Jesus came to remind us that we have a greater, and more valid identity than flesh. In His death He brings to judgement that identity of man that was tarnished by sin - the events in time. He reaches into that eternal realm, where the blueprint of man’s design was preserved, and in His resurrection, the new creation begins. He was raised because of our justification.

What He accomplished is reality. Our appeal to man, is to enter into God’s reality. In Colossians this redemption is described as being transferred out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of the son of His love. Can you see how the new birth, is just like the new creation - it is the original creation that is rescued from the decay and chaos of the kingdom of darkness.

Our decision for Christ only has substance because of God’s decision for us. Our faith is simply entering into - saying yes - to what God already believes to be true.

As with the original creation, all Adam could do was to open his eyes to the perfection and completion of what God had done already, even so with redemption, our only contribution is to open our eyes to the perfection and completion of the salvation He achieved for us, with us and in us even before we were aware of it.

Hosea prophesies of the death and resurrection of Christ as follows: “After two days He will revive us (quicken us, give us life); on the third day He will raise us up that we may live before Him.” God was indeed in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.

What He accomplished is reality and it is complete. The future holds a further unveiling and manifestation of this reality … but the event that made it real was the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

“That's why I don't think there's any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what's coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.

All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it's not only around us; it's within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We're also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don't see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.”

"Favor and Mercy" vs "Grace and Righteousness"

Under the dispensation of Law in the Old Covenant, in order to obtain favor from God, the Israelites needed to perform according to what the Law required plus, offer up the various type of sacrificial offerings ordained by God.

In the account of Moses praying to God to lead His people, he prayed: “If You are pleased with me, teach me Your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with You. Remember that this nation is Your people.” Moses as the minister of Law, needed to perform and comply with the requirements of the Law in order to have favor in the eye of God.

Likewise, when we look at the account of prophet Daniel, he also needed to resolved first not to defile himself with the royal food and wine from king Nebuchadnezzar, then the Lord granted him favor and mercy in the eye of the official. Under Law, men needed to perform to deserve favor from God. This favor from God in the dispensation of Law was conditional.

As for mercy, the Israelites in their dispensation were blessed not because they obeyed the Law completely but they offered sacrificial offerings according to the provisions of the law when they failed. Their blessings were also depended on their high priest. If God accepted their high priest that year, they were blessed. It was the mercy of God to ordain His people to offer up sacrifices the moment Moses brought down the two tablets of stone from Mount Sinai. God could be merciful and forgive all their sins, but they were still sinners and needed to offer up sacrifices repeatedly. This is what mercy could do...

In the dispensation of grace after Jesus had died on the cross and resurrected on the third day of His death, His shed blood and His finished work at the cross had turn God's favor into GRACE and God's mercy into RIGHTEOUSNESS! After the cross, we do not have to do anything to deserve His grace.

2 Timothy 1:9 ~ Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

While we were still sinners, His grace was there waiting for us. We did not do anything good to deserve God's favor to be saved. We were all saved by GRACE through faith. When sin abounded, grace much more abounded! That is why we needed these extra words of “unearned, undeserved, and unmerited” to be added in front the word "favor" in order to define His GRACE. His GRACE is unearned, undeserved, and unmerited favor from God!

Likewise, when we received Jesus as your Savior, Father God not only had mercy on us by forgave ALL our sins, and because of Jesus' shed blood and His finished work at the cross, He went beyond the limitation of what mercy can give by giving us Jesus’ righteousness and consequently, made us a righteous man! We can now come boldly unto His throne because He did not just give us mercy, He added on to His mercy and gave us Jesus' RIGHTEOUSNESS! Oh Hallelujah...! What a finished work that our Lord Jesus Christ had done! Indeed, the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ speaks better thing! Wow...!!!!

We are all made righteous by faith not by work. If you understand this truth, you will not ask for favor and mercy anymore but instead, you will be wise enough to ask for the abundance provision of grace and the gift of His righteousness.

Romans 5:17 ~ For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

Do not settle for the things that we deserve. This is the mentality of a servant. In the dispensation of grace, we are all called the sons of God and we have the best. So receive the abundance provision of grace and the gift of His righteousness and you will reign in life!

Do Not Worry About "Tomorrow"!

Matthew 6:34 ~ Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Our God is a God of today… He is not a God of tomorrow. He declared in the Bible: “I Am!” He is the One who turns tomorrow into today.

Therefore, the one who really need to worry is this “Tomorrow”. So, be wise and let this “Tomorrow” worrys about its own things… i.e. how to come!

Hiak Hiak Hiak! I am writing all this just to tell you: "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

He Is SUFFICIENT For You

"5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."

(2 Corinthians 3:5,6)

The message of the new covenant is sufficient, not the ministers.

God of the new covenant is sufficient, not us.

And the most amazing thing is that He has made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant! When we preach according to the truth of the new covenant, the Holy Spirit confirms the truth by His wonders and miracles! Hallelujah!

Can we call the stars and moons into existence?

Can we create something out of nothing?

Can we perform wonders and miracles at our own words?

Can we save?

Can we redeem?

Can we heal?

Can we make it happen?

Only God can.

And it is ALL because of Christ.

Nothing to do with us.

Under the old covenant of Law, the A plus student --- the rich young ruler, one who obeyed and practiced the Law perfectly outwardly, yet he could not give up on his love for money. It is impossible for man to achieve righteousness via doing the Law. It is impossible for man to save himself from the inner corruption of his heart. Yet with God, NOTHING is impossible.Christ's finished work on the cross makes ALL things possible.

Who can save? Who can resurrect the dead?
Who can heal and give health and life abundant, making us whole again?
JESUS!
He saves the wretched sinners from sin and death. Christ is 'Yeshua---God our salvation.'
He confers righteousness to mankind apart from their own performance. Christ is 'Yahweh Tsidkenu---God our righteousness.'
He heals all our sickness and gives us health. He is 'Yahweh Rapha---God heals.' He IS our healing, He IS our health and wholeness.
He provides all that we need. Abraham saw Him gave up His only Son, the Son that He loved and spared Him not. From Mount Moriah, Abraham saw Christ on the cross over the other mountain peak from afar and he called him 'Yahweh Yireh--- God provides.' God provided an 'once and for all' propitiation for our sin which is effective forever.
He is our Shepherd, we shall lack nothing. The Shepherd died for His sheep and gives us life, life abundant.
He is The Passover Lamb, by Whose blood all the lives of the firstborns of God are spared, slaves are set free.
He is Alpha, the first word, and Omega, the last word.
He is the author of our faith--- when we see Him, faith comes.
He is the perfector of our faith---- when faith in God's love comes, He realize what we hope for, for us.
And when we preach the grace and truth that comes by Jesus Christ,
the good news of the new covenant sealed with His blood on the cross,
He is going to REALIZE it,
MAKE IT HAPPEN
for you,
in you
and show you that
He,
IS SUFFICIENT

Grace Achieved By Law...!?

This is an interesting note written by Bertus Oosthuizen in Facebook...

"Jesus is what God believes about us! We do not need to conjure up our own faith when we can have God’s faith; we only need to know what God believes."

This statement appeared on my wall ,that is in my "living room". It is a one way teaching like in a church. I can't comment on it where it originated. Therefore I will politely and respectfully and in sincere love share what is on my mind here in my own "living room" and the living rooms of those who have the courage to be my friends.

Do I understand this correctly?

"when we CAN have God's faith " - A possibility only

"we ONLY NEED to know " - The requirement

"We do not need to conjure up our own faith" - The dilemma we are in before the possibility can become a reality, when we fulfill the requirement.

This premise and conclusion suggest DIVISION between God and man. A division which can only be crossed by man fulfilling a requirement.

In this case that requirement is completely out of the reach of any man or woman outside the intimate unity with God. Normally the defense will be, "no it is not meant to be outside the intimate unity with God. I am talking about someone that is in God already through Christ".

If that is true what you say, is it possible that there can exist unfulfilled requirements in the unity you suggest. If your answer is yes, then what will happen if they are not fulfilled by man? Did Christ deliberately left some of the requirements to be IN Him (God) for man to bring his/her part to fulfill it?

The moment man is required to do something to bridge an openly stated or subtle implied distance, how small it may seem, between man and God, then it is not Grace, but Grace-achieved-by-law teaching.

It creates more questions than answers.

Often the package comes as a "Grace-made-possible-by-subtle- law-requirement-fulfilling, which doesn't make it obvious that Grace and law are mixed.

True Grace can never be a possibility. It is an awesome completely fulfilled Truth that can never be made conditional in any way whatsoever.
