A note by Chin San Soh in his Facebook Page.
This whole thing started when I was in Kinokuniya 2 years ago, and I came across a secular book "Fun with Chinese Characters" - which some of you may have read it when you were young.
I came across Berinda's Chinese name "慧" which means "wisdom" - and right there when the secular book explained the pictograph, I saw it! A Bible revelation! I'd share that next time.
Pastor Mark Ng and Pastor Alan Hiu have also been instrumental in helping me to be sensitive to seeing Jesus, Bible stories or revelations in Chinese Characters. And their revelations are beautiful.
This one I just saw in the book 4 days ago, I'm not sure if this has been shared before but my heart just explodes when it became clear - and light came.
I came across the pictograph explanation of the word "主" which means Lord in Chinese. The word "Lord" is important to Christians. In the Bible, it says
Revelation 19:16 ~ And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."
The word "Lord" in Chinese Character is derived from the picture of a lamp.
Jesus is Lord - that's why Christians refer to Jesus as "Lord Jesus" in our prayers.
As you can see, the Chinese Character "主" which is "Lord" shows a picture of a Lampstand. A Lampstand! In the Holy Place of the Tabernacle that God asks Moses to prepare, there is a golden Lampstand.
Exodus
25:31 ~ “You shall also make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand shall be of hammered work. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and flowers shall be of one piece.
25:32 ~ And six branches shall come out of its sides: three branches of the lampstand out of one side, and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side."
Golden Lampstand Lord in Chinese Character
As we learnt from studies of the tabernacle in New Creation, this Golden Lampstand is a picture of Jesus! For example, it is made of pure gold, not gold plated. Gold speaks of divinity in the Bible. It shall be "hammered work" - and speaks of the beating that Jesus endured on the cross.
And now we see the pictograph of "Lord" is the picture of a Lampstand. Hallelujah!
Psalm 119:105 ~
Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. (added)
Not only that, if you realized, for the Lampstand, there are 3 horizontal lines across the centre stick that eventually branches out to be the 6 other lights (representing churches). It is once again no coincidence that 3 horizontal lines across the Chinese word "Lord", "主“!
And finally, the explanation of why "Lord" is represented by the Lampstand in this secular book.
"It symbolizes a man who spreads light".
There was a story of a woman caught in adultery. And the pharisees wanted to condemn and stone her. But Jesus saved her, and gave the woman the gift of no condemnation, which gave her the power to sin no more. What a beautiful Saviour we have! He could condemn her, but He would not, instead showed the sinner perfect grace.
After that, Jesus spoke and said in John 8:12 ~ I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.
The Lord declares that He is the Light Himself!
If your life is now surrounded by darkness, or confusion, or you lack revelation in a certain area, just proclaim "Lord Jesus you are the Light that casts out ALL darkness. In You, there is no darkness, no confusion, no fear and worry. You are Lord! You are Light! You are Life! I am in You. Amen!"
Jesus the Golden Lampstand, the Lord of our lives, the Light of the World!
God hides BEAUTIFUL pictures of our Lord Jesus in Chinese Characters!
There is a lot more to share which I'd take a picture of next time.
Many thanks to Pastor Mark and Pastor Alan. :)
