Simple English Lesson for Today

Simple English lesson for today...

Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely He has borne our griefs (present perfect tense)
And carried our sorrows (present perfect tense);
Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted (past tense).

But He was wounded for our transgressions (past tense),
He was bruised for our iniquities (past tense);
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him (past tense),
And by His stripes we are healed (present perfect tense).

To endorse these 7 tenses, He declared, "It is FINISHED!"

The Good News

Christianity is nothing about our work. It is about Jesus' Work at the Cross.

Our work is bad news (of which we witness in every day's newspaper)... and this bad news continue. Jesus' Finished Work at the Cross is Good News and it is finished and final..!

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ (the Resurrected Jesus). It is the power of God at work (His work), saving everyone who believes (not who work) — the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight (we are already right in His sight). This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” (Romans 1:16-17 NLT)

Follow Me...!

Ignore the one who is talking behind your back. That is where he belongs... behind you. This one always rushes you with demands; pulls you and provokes you from your back...

Pay more attention to the One who speaks to your face. He is in front of you. He always leads you and He always guide you with abundant grace... His sheep know His voice.

Jesus said, "Follow Me...!" (Luke 8:22)

The Contrast

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy
(In other word, the thief comes to CANCER off our life).

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
(In other word, Jesus came to MULTIPLY our life).

(John 10:10)

Saving Private Ryan

Private Ryan could have gone home by GRACE... but he chose to EARN it and costing massive loses of the live who came to save him...

We too, we could have live our "CHRISTIAN" life by GRACE... and many a time we wanted to EARN it and facing the same consequence...

It is the self-righteousness of man that betrayed the grace of God... No wonder when Prophet Isaiah had something to say about our own righteousness..., he said: "But we are all as the unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruation cloth. And we all fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. " (Isaiah 64:6)

Declare His Finished Work

He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destruction.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness (Mercy and Grace), And for His wonderful works (Works that Jesus finished at the Cross) to the children of men!

Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving (Like Apostle Paul had said, give thanks always), And declare His works (Finished Work at the Cross) with rejoicing.

(Psalms 107:20-22)

Our Work is To Speak Forth the Word of Christ!

Our problem is not that we are not doing or have not done enough for the Kingdom of God. Our problem is, we are not believing the truth at all.

Our Heavenly Father is so humble that, He made the Holy Spirit our Helper, our Counselor, our Comforter and our Teacher and yet, we are not humble enough to let the Holy Spirit does the job...

We are indeed a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for possession, so that we might speak of the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light...

A king speaks forth while a priest blesses...! Both are given the power to speak and God see this kind of speaking, "our work"! To God, faith without work is faith without SPEAKING forth the Word of Christ...!
