Prayer


Dear friends, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

I also pray that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

I also thank my Lord as I remember where you come from in my prayer, because I see your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understandibg of every good thing we have in Christ.

"MAN Go"


One year ago, Penny made a Mango Cheese Cake for our Elder Alex's birthday. We celebrated his birthday at our K Group because it was on Friday then. Ever since that night, the word "Man go" kept echoing in my head with the verse from Mark 16:15 kept knocking at my heart... I then released that through this Mango Cheese Cake, the Lord prompted me to share the Gospel through blogging...

On the 25th of May last year, Norman helped me to create a blog entitled: "See The World Through His Heart". I did not think hard for a blog title then, it just flown out of me. I felt nice, Penny said nothing, Norman and Adrian said cool, so that's it. My first post was the Mango Cheese Cake ~ An Evangelistic Cake.

Looking back at this one year of blogging, I have seen the faithfulness of our Lord and there is nothing could be written if the Spirit did not lead or prompt. There were times when I was doing the final editing, I was amazed that what I was about to share could be changed totally according to the will of the Spirit. For this, I am referring to the post on Tithing. I encountered the most amazing experience through the post on Fasting that in a flick of a second, I could have the revelation for what to write.

In this one year of blogging life, I can conclude that in every part of the world, the battle is between grace and legalism. What is happening to me in Kuching is also happening in your place. When you are with "grace", you see more and more of Jesus... if you are with "legalism", you see more and more of yourselves...

This one year of blogging life also bought me numerous gracious friend from all over the world. It is amazing to know that though we have never met, we shared the same Spirit and message. Now I am trying my best to recall these friends I met in sequence...

Home Sweet Home... and What A Surprise!


We reached Kuching safely at 5.45 PM yesterday evening. William, the disciple whom Jesus loves, who is also known as yaso in his blog, was there at the Airport to fetch us. We dropped Bartholomew off his home at BDC and William used a strange and winding road to go to my house. Upon arriving my house, Penny was already outside the house waiting for us and William said he wanted to used my toilet. So I asked Penny to serve Elder Alex and William with drink.

Home at last, mm... home sweet home...! As I walked into my house, everybody (My wife, Elder Alex and the one who said he needed to use the toilet) seemed to walk very slow. Funny... As I opened the door of my house and WOOH... what a surprise, my home was packed with people and they were all shouting and singing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALAN!!!"

Watch the video, they were so co-operative. Even my son Adrian, was being "laid astray" by hiding himself behind the curtain... It was indeed a well planned surprise birthday party and this was my first ever surprise birthday party. They went to the extend of parking their cars far away from my house and hid all their shoes in the storeroom. That's why William used that long and winding road to send me home so that I could not notice any familiar cars and suspicious sign!

William had a hard time explaining how he was struggling with dropping Bartholomew off so that there would not be any unusual move to trigger my suspicion. We missed Bartholomew as we could not get hold of him through the phone because he was still having his Indonesian Sim Card in his phone. Too bad Brother...

AD 2009


We are now entering the year of AD 2009 and I pray that our knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord be increased in this New Year. As I look back at the year and despite of all the uncertainties in this world, I thanks God for His grace, mercy and faithfulness that we are still living in the fullness of His blessing.

For a start in this new year, I feel impressed to bring your attention to a very basic truth. This truth is reflected in our everyday life and maybe many of us have overlooked this.

The world dating system was designated by the abbreviation of B.C. and A.D. Before Christ is abbreviated as BC or B.C. This abbreviation is used in the English language to denote years before the birth of Christ. Whereas the abbreviation of AD or A.D. (Anno Domini) denotes in Latin as “In The Year of the Lord”. Anno Domini system was invented by Dionysius Exiguus. This abbreviation of AD or A.D., is a designation used to number years in the Julian and Gregorian calendars. More fully, years may be also specified as Anno Domini Nostri Iesu (Jesu) Christi (In the Year of Our Lord Jesus Christ).

The Gregorian calendar is the most widely used calendar in the world today. Again, our Lord Jesus Christ is involved and He is the central focus in influencing the human race on differentiating the years they are in. Jesus Christ is at the heart of societies and human civilization and the history of this world must date to our Lord Jesus Christ from both sides. Indeed, history is His Story…

Colossians 1:15~22 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

Before God opened up the floodgates of the heavens to judge the world with flood during Noah's time, He made Methuselah (Noah's grandfather) lived for 969 years. Methuselah became the longest living human in history. When God gave His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ to save the world, Jesus died young at the age of 33.

Our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified at the age of 33 and was resurrected on the 3rd day and is now sitting at the right hand of the Heavenly Father. We are now living in 2009th year of the Lord Jesus Christ! Our Lord Jesus Christ is alive and is still living today. This is the truth!

2 Corinthians 13:8 ~ For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.

You Are Called!


How do you know whether you have been called to preach His grace?

- You hear what you are hearing and you see what you are seeing… and therefore, you are called!

Many Christians hear but they do not really hear. Many Christians see but they do not really see…

My friends, if you are hearing and you understand what you are hearing and when you are seeing and you understand what you are seeing, you have seen His grace and you have been called to be His Ambassador and you have been given the Ministry of Reconciliation.

You are called to preach His grace!

2 Corinthians 6:1 ~ As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain.

The Wife of Noble Character


Proverbs 31:10~31

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.
She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.
She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.

By Grace Through Faith


A church is born out of Jesus’ death and His blood. For all who believes in Jesus are saved by His blood through righteousness of faith. When we are saved, His blood removed poverty, curse, sickness, bondage, brokenness and restored all the blessings mentioned in the Book of Deuteronomy.

Because of His grace, we, the wild olive branches, are able to come into His blessings. The power of His grace has brought us into His rest. This rest is from Him and rest is of His nature. Jesus says in Matthew 11: 28~30, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

True rest only comes when we have fully accepted His grace and by His grace, we know that God had fully reconciled with us through Jesus. Through these divine elements, His faith is imparted to us and made us believe and understand the value of justification by faith. Justification by faith is the core value of the Gospel that Paul was preaching and justification by faith is of the same Gospel that God preached to Abraham.

When we talk about faith, we would think of Abraham, the father of faith. When we talk about Abraham, we would think of the promises that God made with Him...

The truth of the matter is, not every believer who are saved by the blood, are bless with Abraham blessing! No, only those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. The word “faith” here means keep on believing or in other word “faithing” (I know this is bad English but I just want to bring this point across). It does not mean the type of faith that you put in Christ thirty years ago. It means the kind of belief that you are having now. Do you still believe in justification by faith or you are justifying your righteousness through your own effort?

Paul said in Galatians 3:9, “So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.” See the way the Holy Spirit uses word? Even now, while you are reading this, Abraham still believes!

What did God bless Abraham with?
He was blessed with wealth, i.e. Cattle, silver and gold.
He was blessed with health, i.e. his body was rejuvenated at his old age. This blessing also imparted to his wife Sarah whose life was rejuvenated that two kings wanted her to be their harem. And ladies, you are the daughter of Sarah as mentioned in 1 Peter 3:5.
He was blessed with authority, i.e. In him all the nations shall be blessed.

My dear friends, we have been enlighten by His grace, everything good that are of divine value has been laid as foundation. Continue to be faithful to the truth that we have received, continue to walk in His grace...

A Word Of Thanks


It has been two months since the start of this blog. This blog was born because of the Mango Cheese Cake made by Penny, my beloved wife. I was impressed by the word Mango (read it as man go) that, man shall go and preach the good news. Of course, this good news is about the grace of God. Since the day Jesus enlightened me with His grace, an urge was placed in me to share the grace of God to those Christian from the Chinese congregations. They have been labouring too much to deserve His blessing.

My heart struggled a while prior to the start of this blog as I did not know WHAT, WHO and HOW to write. In the midst of my struggle, ideas started to come in as I found out that His grace is the WHAT, Jesus is the WHO and what He has brought me through in my walk with Him is the HOW. These elements are the WHY that urge is in my heart.

So I first started with the posting of cakes and cookie made by Penny and those grace revelations recorded in my little booklet. In these two months of blogging, I found that this is the path that I can learn to follow His prompting. For the entire subjects that I have posted, the sequences were led by Him including this writing to mark the closing for the month of July 2008. Those I personally wish to post are still in the queue.

I tried to keep this blog as low profile as possible, but as I look back on the number of visitors for the past 2 months, I know that my God is not a low profile God. He is popular because He is a good God who loves and who saves. He is not an angry God like those legalistic preachers have portrayed.

The month of August will mark a new chapter and I am looking to Him for fresh revelation of His grace. I want to take this opportunity to thanks those who had directly or indirectly helped me encouraged me and supported me in this blog. I am not going to say may God bless you or thing like that because that is for an average Christian who do not have the revelation of His grace. As for you all, you are not an average Christian. You are overflowing with His blessings because of your faith in His grace and His righteousness.

We are all In Christ and we have been blessed in the heavenly realm with every spiritual things in Christ and we are not leaked in anything or in any area of our life. If we feel that we have leak in certain area of our life, that is our leak in understanding His grace in that area of our life. Amen.
