Medan, Day Four...

It's the forth day of our stay in Medan. Everything was as schedule... we had Communion at Elder Alex room, after that we went down to the Cafe for breakfast and get ourselves ready for the Hotel coach to fetch us to Medan Mall.

This is the place where we have our free breakfast every morning

1st session of the teaching

Psalm 110:1
~ A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord,"Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool."

A demonstration of how the enemies had been made our footstool when Elder Alex touched on how to develop a throne-like positional attitude.

2nd Session of the teaching

A look at the Two Trees with Bartholomew translating into Bahasa Indonesia.
Gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. Grace, the unearned and unmerited favor of God, judges our religious thoughts and our religious attitudes of our hearts. Our flesh delight in works and reject grace, but our spirit rejoices in receiving this double-edges sword.

We will be having Q&A session for the last day of our teaching tomorrow. From the question, we will know how much they have received in this 5 days of Grace teaching. Indeed, we are excited in looking forward to this session. To answer interesting questions that we used to ask before.

Since Susan is still up in the mountain and will only be back at Medan tomorrow, we will be asking the Hotel driver to bring us to another famous eating place in Medan tonight. So, let's see what we can bring you from there... :) Bye...

Medan, Day Three... Strolling The Street

It was raining when we were trying to go to a nearby complex called Yuki @ Simpang Tiga. The infrastructure here is disappointing because there is no proper walking path... worst of all, the walking path is parked with vehicles.

Medan, Day Two... @ Merdeka Walk

Susan brought us to Merdeka Walk, a popular eating place at Medan Merdeka Padang (Medan Independence Field), to meet up with her missionary friends who had just came out from their station in the inner part of Sumatra. The station is about 24 hours drive from Medan and they are there to reach out to the primitive tribes. They will only be back in Medan once every six months.

The is the place next to Medan Merdeka Padang where Pastor Peter Youngren had his Friendship Rally in the year 2004.

Pineapple juice
... from green pineapple? No, they mix this pineapple juice with vegetable. Aromatic and refreshing though...

Medan, Day Two...

Good morning Medan
A view from our Hotel Room. Looking across the skyline, we can hardly find any high rise building in Medan. Can it because this is a volcanically active region?

Something is missing
The Hotel only provides us with a tap and no toilet roll. We really have to "pray hard" to figure out how to solve our problem...

New Translator, Pastor Octavianus

Pastor Octavianus is our new translator this morning. He is a close friend of Susan Hoover and is in-charge of a registered missionary training school (registered with the Indonesian government) in Medan.

Elder Alex continued his teaching on confession in the first session of the class this morning. We saw faces started to shine in spite of a few little questions on obscure verses from the Book of James. The cloud of doubt began to clear as we revealed to them that James wrote the first letter in the New Covenant to the Jewish people of his time and explained that the full revelation of grace only revealed through the ministry of Apostle Paul.

When this foundation has been laid, Elder Alex continued to expound the topics on righteousness and the love of the Father for us. It was yet another interesting session as laughter could be heard from times to times. There is life in our midst...

Famous Ayam Penyet (Indonesian Fried Chicken)

Avocado Ice Cream Float

We have our lunch in one of the Indonesian Fast Food outlet at Medan Mall. We tried the famous Ayam Penyet and Elder Alex ordered this unusual drink with combination of Avocado and Ice Cream.

Pandan Flavor Coconut

This Pandan Flavor Coconut Tree has been planted at the back of my house for over 5 years now. It was only when I had been led to a Christ centered preaching Church that this Coconut Tree started to bear fruits. Thirty, sixty and hundredfold...

Short growing Pandan Flavor Coconut Tree

The husk of the coconut was removed and chilled in refrigerator for overnight. This afternoon, I had an interesting way of enjoying the juice of this Pandan Flavor Coconut with thanks giving in my heart. Surely blessings and prosperity will be mine!

Pandan Flavor Coconut with it's husk removed. The Coconut has a unique image of two "eyes" and a "mouth". The "mouth" has a soft spot where an opening can be made to place the straw.

Psalm 128

1 A song of ascents. Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in his ways
2 You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table.
4 Thus is the man blessed who fears the LORD.
5 May the LORD bless you from Zion all the days of your life; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem,
6 and may you live to see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel.

From Flower To Juice

A Dragon Fruit Tree was planted at the back of our house and it took three years to bear its fruits. These Dragon Fruits was ice blended and combined with a small portion of fresh Lemon juice. The combination was perfect, deliciously juicy and refreshing!

Meanwhile, we have been "dunging" this tree hoping that it will bear more fruits; thirty, sixty and hundredfold!
