Heaven and earth had the most important G-8 Summit at Mount Hermon two thousand years ago. This G-8 Summit was attended by Jesus; grace personified, Moses, representative of the Law; Elijah, representative of the Prophet; Man – represented by Peter, James and John and Heaven was represented by the Holy Spirit and the Father God.
In the Hebrews language, Peter is "Kepha" which means "Stone", James is "Ya'aqob" which means "to supplant" and John is "Yohanan" which means "Grace". Ironically, the representative of man was signifying the Law (two tablets of stone) is to be supplanted by Grace!
Minutes of Mt. Hermon G-8 Summit
Matthew 17:1 ~ Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
Matthew 17:2 ~ and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
Matthew 17:3 ~ And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
Matthew 17:4 ~ Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
Matthew 17:5 ~ While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"
Matthew 17:6 ~ And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.
Matthew 17:7 ~ But Jesus came and touched them and said, "Arise, and do not be afraid."
Matthew 17:8 ~ When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
During the Summit, each representative was given a chance to speak. Jesus representing grace was transfigured. His face was shone like the sun and His clothes became as white as the light. Moses and Elijah, the representative of the Law and Prophet talked to Jesus regarding the Death that He was about to accomplished in Jerusalem. The representative of man, Mr. Peter was speaking of putting Jesus (Grace), Moses (Law) and Elijah (Prophet) on the same level by proposing the building of three tabernacles; one for Jesus, one for Moses and one for Elijah.
At this moment, Moses and Elijah, the representatives of Law and Prophet departed immediately from the scene and the Holy Spirit intervened Peter’s proposal with overshadowed white cloud. Father God spoke from the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"... The voice of Grace said immediately, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” The Summit at Mount Hermon adjourned with man looking up and seeing no one but Jesus only.
Heaven and earth had concluded with the ultimate resolution of "Listening to the voice of Grace". This resolution was further endorsed by the Jesus' blood when He gave up His life... signed, sealed and delivered at the Cross!
Do you still have fear and uncertainty in your Christian walk? If you have, you might have been camping on the wrong camp of the tabernacles of Law and Prophet. The Father said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!" So fear no more... I have good news for you! Today, Jesus is still saying to you, “Arise, and do not be afraid.”
Listen to Jesus. Listen to the voice of Grace. Listen to Grace…
Brilliant... Absolutely brilliant! How often has the church continued to try to set up the three altars... to the law, the prophets and Jesus. But it's Jesus only!
ReplyDeleteAmen Brother, it's Jesus only.

To get in touch with God is a local call. He is not watching you from a distance. Long distance religion is out-dated! Acquaint yourself with God, Emanuel means God with us. He places His presence amongst men. He dwells within us; God′s address is you; He is always in touch, within your immediate reach. Your joy and your love, reflect Him; His presence is your portion, you are within the frame of His thought, within the focus of His heart. Your wealth is your awareness of His nearness. Acknowledge Him, adore Him… or ignore Him! It remains your choice to hear His voice. You are His audience; listen up!
