Do We Have To...?

Do we have to put Jesus No.1 in our life? Hmmm... Interesting question. What is your opinion?

  1. Hi Alan,
I feel that as we entrenched ourselves in His love for us, we will in turn love God. When we love God we will do things out of the overflow for Him like telling others about Him etc. We can't help but do things for God because we are so in love with Him...As to whether we have to put Him as No 1, it becomes very legalistic if we HAVE TO but when we love, we WANT TO :)

  4. It is like a paradox for me - if I start to think of putting Jesus as No.1, it becomes a great effort for me; but if I don't think of it, it becomes supernaturally natural, effortless and peaceful.

  6. How can you ask this question and stumble people. When this question is being asked, it trigger my flesh to say yes but my spirit man kicks me and say Jesus is my everything! When He is my everything, how am I going to make Him No.1? If I can make Him No. 1, it is my flesh and not my spirit!

    Very tricky lah you!

  7. Thank you for giving your opinion on this post! All of you just gave a very beautiful and truthful answer.

Actually, this is part of the "STONES" that we used to throw at each other during our “die hard gang” fellowship. We just throw out different kinds of "STONE" from time to time just to see how ppl react to the stone. From there we'll know where ppl stand. That's how we grow in His grace... and it is effective…:)

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:3-4)
And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. (2 Corinthians 5:15)
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you. (Romans 8:11)
Which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27)

You all are indeed in love with JESUS and you all are lost in love!

    Blessing...!

  11. Rejoice: As for me, the idea of putting Jesus first in my life has long been forgotten until I met a "still legalistic" friend who out of his good heart, reminded me to put Jesus first in my life. Your comment was my thought then!

Wow.. what a blessing to know His grace!

  12. Well Pastor!!!!

We cannot put Jesus in the goal with No. 1 jersey. We have to let Jesus wear No. 5 and put Him in midfield for He can defend and attack from box to box!

    What an inspiration!

  13. Richurch! Minister of Stone Throwing Ministry!

My flesh felt itchy as well when I heard of putting Jesus No. 1 in my life! It is indeed an insult to our Lord if we can put Him No.1. If He can be No. 1, there will be time He will be No. 2 or No. 3!

How thin is this line! Indeed, it is a matter of flesh and spirit!
