Stop Trying, We Already Are!

In God’s prospective, what is His definition on righteousness? Man in his fallen nature, would always choose to perform through law abiding to achieve righteousness. But righteousness in God’s prospective is never our right behavior, but Jesus’ right behavior at the Cross.

At the Mount of Transfiguration, Jesus was transfigured with His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light! Two men, Moses and Elijah were there talking to Jesus about His death, which He was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. This magnification of divine righteousness was witnessed by Moses, who represented the Law and Elijah, who represented the Prophet.

Peter, being a man in his fallen nature, was trying to make Jesus, Moses and Elijah on the same level. A bright cloud enveloped them and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

Romans 3:21 ~ But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the law and the prophets.

At the Cross, Jesus did not just remove our sins; He also leaved behind His righteousness as a gift for us. This gift is the clearance of all our guilt which makes us able to stand before God. With this gift, we can now come boldly before the throne of Grace and receive freely everything that He died to give us!

Indeed, when we are born again, we have this divine righteousness and we are perfectly righteous in God’s eye. Stop trying to be righteous; we are already the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!

  3. Right on! This isn't a life of "trying" to be righteous. It's a life of knowing we are righteous!
