Prevent From Being Disgraced

As I was reading the book of Proverbs this morning, I was challenged by the Lord to read this passage from Proverbs Chapter 3 in a reverse way. As the passage in Proverbs 3:13 declares a man is bless when he finds Wisdom and end in Proverbs 3:26 with the impact of Wisdom on man.

It is through the enlightenment of His Grace that brings us peace and guide us back to embrace the Tree of Life. Grace being the charisma of Wisdom sounds foolish to those who are intellectual, connects us back to the fountain of divine Wisdom through the Tree of Life. In the Tree of Life, which is the fountain of divine Wisdom, is the fountain of all the blessings the world is looking for, i.e. having long life in her right hand and riches and honor in her left.

There is a proper order in the principle of God and the divine sequence for men to process sound knowledge begin with Wisdom. When men have found Wisdom, they have the understanding and this understanding brings them knowledge. This is sound knowledge from the Wisdom of God.

Proverbs 3:19 By wisdom the LORD laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;
Proverbs 3:20 by his knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.

God's order for sound knowledge is from WISDOM, comes UNDERSTANDING and comes sound KNOWLEDGE.

Ever since Adam fell from his high ground, men in their fallen nature, seek blessings from the wrong order. In fact, after Adam fell, whatever men did are in the wrong orders because of their self righteousness and own effort. Because of this, they can only embark themselves on the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil that gives the kind of fallen knowledge which cannot comprehend the understanding of the divine purposes. This is where all kind of religions in this world spring forth. Our self effort can never access the fountain of Wisdom i.e. the Tree of Life...

By reading this passage in reverse manner, we are digging down verse by verse and we find that Wisdom is at the Tree of Life, the fountain for all blessings.

Proverbs 3:26 for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.
Proverbs 3:25 Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
Proverbs 3:24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
Proverbs 3:23 Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble;
Proverbs 3:22 they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.
Proverbs 3:21 My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight;

Proverbs 3:18 She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed.
Proverbs 3:17 Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.
Proverbs 3:16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
Proverbs 3:15 She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.
Proverbs 3:14 for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.
Proverbs 3:13 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding,

Unless we are Christ conscious, we can never understand what God is trying to convey in His Word. Our self consciousness will always lead us to the wrong tree and pervert the truth and we end up missing the blessings that God has destined for us!

To fear Him is to acknowledge His grace. This is the path to find Wisdom that prevents us from being disgraced!

  2. What a refreshing way of reading Proverbs 3. It is like going up the Tree of Life and coming down with all the fruits to enjoy and share. Alan,thanks for the wise insight.

    In Him all the treasures of [divine] wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden (Colossians 2:3, Amplified Bible)

    Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me [Wisdom] finds life and draws forth and obtains favour from the Lord. (Proverbs 8:34, 35 , Amplified Bible)
